Sony. PLEASE Let Next Twisted Metal be dark and grim like BLACK!!

I want a new Twisted Metal Black game so bad i can feel it in my bones! That game for the PS2 was definitley in the top 10 of my best games of last gen list, actually make that top 5. That game was way ahead of its time in terms of its story cinematics, its dark look and atmosphere and great gameplay. I hope sony doesnt mess this up by making it "online" only or making it just a PSN title. This game needs a blu ray release with a epic single player and epic multiplayer to go along with it!

I want it to be very dark and grim like Twisted Metal Black also.. Infact id go far as to say just totally remake Twisted Metal Black with a lot better graphics and a new graphics engine with a deep online multiplayer and ill be set. One feature they need to have is the ability to create your own car and unlock multiple weapons and guns along the way to add to your custom made car.

One thing i hope they do NOT do is make on foot combat where you can get out of the vehicle. I HATE the ground combat in Warhawk and think it controls very lousy, I just hope Sony doesnt make the same mistake with Twisted Metal. Bottom line is WE NEED a new Twisted Metal game and it NEEDS TO BE dark and grim like the Twisted Metal Black with both a epic single player and multiplayer.. Please sony make it happen!

Warhawk clone in what way exactly?

I'm excited at the thought of there being a current gen Twisted Metal but I'm not sure that kind of game could warrant a 60 dollar price point.

Black was pretty great, but I still think TM2 was the best in the series. Black was great in the gameplay and style, but I didn't like the new version of Calypso as much, or the way the endings were told. Also, I felt the "victories" for part 2 were way more dark and devious than the weaker Black endings. TM2 made Calypso feel like the devil and even when you won...you lost. Black made Calypso feel like a non-character and his look was very bland. His wish grating wasn't as devious or evil intended as with part 2.

But I will agree that if they take the gameplay and visual design of Black and combine it with the Calypso from Pat 2...it would be the best TM yet.

The problem with the create-a-car feature, though, is that the cars of TM have become more recognizeable of "characters" than the actual characters in the game. the cars are what is recognzieable and what people actually PLAY. I think the ability to completely create your own car would just take away from the single player game.

But create-a-car for online play would be pretty sweet.

I miss when the combat rally games were going strong. If you were a fan of those kind of games, the only real generation that featured it was the N64/PS1 one. After that, it just tapered off. :(

I totally agree with you kennysolidsnake, twisted metal black was awesome! I would love to see it remade with better graphics. Everthing about this game used to scare me to death when i was younger, it needs to keep that creepy atmosphere and music.

Was I the only person that found Black to be nearly impossible to play? It was the only TW I have ever played, and I suppose I only played it for a couple of hours.. But I really could not find anything good to say about the game.

I loved Black's storyline so much. It was dark and gritty and had twists at the very last second like when Calypso told Sweet Tooth that he could make it so his head was no longer on fire on the condition that he no longer killed anyone so Sweet Tooth decapitated him instead. Another good one was Baby Face and her prize of being able to take off her mask but at the cost of the life of the guy who put it one her in the first place. Baby Face ook gthey key and killed him but decided to keep her mask locked on her anyways.

Man those are some good memories.

The only parts I strongly disagree with. Might as well just leave out the Twisted Metal part of the title and call it Warhawk 2.

Where it was fun playing at arenas like Paris (blowing up Eifel Tower!), New York (Jumping off roofs), Holland (Fighting on the open field), etc.

TM2 can only be summed up with 1 word, fun.

I find the whole series to be pretty weak. Great concept, but it's just not executed all that well IMO.

BTW, I downloaeded one of the PS1 Twisted Metals on the PSN store and was shocked by how badly it has aged.

I thought Twisted Metal was like Vigilante 8. Cars fighting?

Dude, all TM games are dark and fun at the same time(the ones made by single-trac/Incognito).

Its that dark/sadistic humour(to some extent) and storyline which makes TM games what they are.

I loved black. THe gameplay,character design and stories. It also had a kick ass ending theme PAINT IT BLACK!

I have faith in Jaffe. I can't wait to see a trailer. I'm guessing next year's E3

LOL God I hope not, It was Eat/Sleep/Play's first game (I think) . I'm pretty sure Sony would give Jaffe enough time for this one
