I'm sure PSN will have a suite of tools more powerful than Premiere and After Effects combined.

Im sure it is a lot more practical on the PS4.... (not to mention that its being done by a dedicated chip so it will consume hardly any resources)

What percentage of pc gamers have them?
In the early dayzz with lack of many games, that may be all there is to do on that system. :twisted:Who cares? Who cares about streaming and sharing videos anyway? And if you did care about sharing videos, chances are you would care about online multiplayer too so would be getting PS+ anyway.

You know this is why I think MS is acting stupid as hell. The only people who care about recording and streaming video are people who are avid gamers. Casuals don't really care and probably don't know how to do it. Now, the majority of avid gamers are more than likely going to buy XBL, and the sole reason they are doing this, is to play online. The other stuff is just bonus, but even if the only benefit for XBL was to play online, gamers would pay the premium because that's a pretty big aspect of games nowadays. Sure, if you wanna milk casuals, you can charge for Netflix and all that jazz, but no casual is going to pay for XBL just so they can stream their gameplay. Here is where MS's studio decision making comes in.
The people who are going to use the streaming feature are avid gamers, and the feature that will make avid gamers pay for XBL is online play. So why put the streaming behind the paywall? Its not going to affect sales. Its not like there are gamers out there who were on the fence and decided to get XBL just so they could stream their games. If you are going to get XBL its either because you wanna play online, or you're an idiot who doesn't know how to use your computer so you want to get netflix. In either case, Streaming online is a very low priority reason to get XBL. All this does for MS is make them look greedy.

Yup, I imagine that will be same for both systems. *oh look, another Watch Dogs stream*
*oh wow Killer Instinct again?*
*haha this is the 500th Killzone stream I have seen today*
exactly as I said, Sony would keep it free, make a big deal and charge later just like they have with multiplayer play.tdkmillsy
Lets face it... they have only started charging for Multiplayer with the next gen ... they just announced that streaming and DVR wont require PS+... this is not going to change until at least next next gen. Don't be a fool

so a 5-7 year time line? I am fine with that

Youre badly missunderestimating the advantages the pc has over a share button friend.... No offense. It is not just the streaming though but everything needs gold but the only thing needed for PS+ is multiplayer and even then PS+ still offers things gold does not. I honestly do not care about streaming videos for for either system but it does get tiring hearing everything needs gold. I personally prefer to do my pvp in wow and not console games so I could not get PS+ and still have most features on PS4 but not the same with Xbox.Who cares? I will give one example during the first reveal they had special interviews with the console makers on twitch about the Xbox One that was literally just introduced that day but I needed Gold to watch it. I thought to myself are you sh!tting me? The whole point of the interviews was to build interest in the console you just announced but the only way I could watch it was with gold. Even though I had a Xbox 360 and they were streaming it on the 360 I had to watch it on the PC since I did not renew my gold.
I honestly think the Xbox one in many ways is a better console but the attitude of the companies is not the same at all.

PC's can have much more resources than a PS4, i can fraps most games without a noticeable fps drop (doesnt go below 60fps) and then there's Nvidia Shadowplay as others have said.
And all that without a 15min limit and access to very powerful editing software.

Hmm, That is a valid point. Hadn't really thought of it from that side.
I think for the bulk of people though it won't make much of a difference if the streaming, etc. is behind a paywall or not, since the main feature that people want is multiplayer, so will be subscribing to the pay service anyway.

I agree streaming by itself will not be a huge deal but the way I see it is ..
Sony -Buy PS+ and your gaming experience will be enhanced but if you do not want to then there are still many features from f2p games, streaming video, video or music apps, and more that a person can enjoy.
Microsoft- Buy gold or your console is pretty much useless since none of the features will be avialable.
One feature may not make a difference but many will make a difference. Anyone like myself that does not pvp on console or or someone that does not pvp at all will see the PS4 as having a big advantage since most things are available on the PS4 without PS+. For me if I do not want to muliplayer on a console I would still be forced to get Gold but I would not be forced to get PS+. Actually I have PS+ and even though I do not console pvp I still have used it more then I ever used gold because of all the rental games. I do not know if I would get it again but I would rather get PS+ before Gold even though I have had both.

I prefer the 360 over the PS3 and I think the Sony fans are the worst but the jury is still out on PS4 and Xbox One. Like I said before I think in many ways Xbox One is better but I do not think it is better in every area. Really both new systems disappoint me in different areas. The X1 may have better features and better exclusives IMO but PS+ and Sony's direction from hardware to general attitude are far better.[QUOTE="_Matt_"]

Ah sure sure, that's understandable then. Try and balance out the System Wars a little and put the cows in their place :P .
I agree there there is currently no clear winner between PS4 and Xbox One, I think it will be a good couple of years before we will see which system is "better" if either. Apart from policies and a few games, both systems are currently looking identical to me.
Of course it isnt, its not Microsoft hahahttp://www.dualshockers.com/2013/08/08/playstation-plus-wont-be-required-to-record-and-stream-video-on-ps4/

They should start with letting.... browse websites without gold. As long as this won't happen i don't see MS gonna have balls to do the rest I expected it will happen next generetion, when PSN will gain a lot of new features, people would start to notice that MS was fooling them around by telling that they need to pay for everything internet related even thru they already payed for that to ISP, as most people (including most people in SW) have 0 idea how Internet worksMicrosoft U-turn in 3.....2.......1.......

Of the exclusive games shown the Xbox one games look to be better. As far as the PS4 I have played both Killzone and Infamous games this gen and none of them were that good. As far as the X1 though DR3 or Forza I am sure will be amazing and I have loved every Remedy game so I am expecting a lot from QB. I could go on a lot more about why I am looking forward to X1 games more but that is a example of games. I really like a lot of the new features that the Xbox One has and to me it seems between the two consoles the Xbox is the only console going from one gen to the next gen. The PS4 seems to me nothing but a PS3 with better hardware. While I do hate Gold compared to PS+ how the features on them are not forced on them is one thing but that is only part of the consoles. While the gold thing does make me mad but if I was to buy one of them today it would be the X1 because from what I have seen the X1 offers me more from games to features that I want. I am not saying the PS4 offers nothing but the X1 offers the better system for me.
Not sure if that is what you want since you said step by step but I am not writting a long report on every game and every feature comparing the two.

Isn't it odd how almost every week we learn something new that the Xbox One WON'T let you do vs. what the PS4 WILL let you do?
I wonder how many more limitations and restrictions we're going to find out about before the Xbox One finally ships?

Launch exclusives are of about the same quality, take a look X1: Ryse Killer Instinct (downloadable game with only one playable character available unless you pay for all others) Dead Rising 3 Kinect Sports Forza PS4: Killzone Shadow fall Knack Driveclub WarFrame (I included this because killer instinct is a download) Seems like both systems have about same quality of launch exclusives. And more will probably be more announced from both sidesPlease Log In to post.
