Wonder how it would be now that new 360 is out.

and sony said ps2 was the 2nd most played console at e3, somehow i don't believe that. (unless they're admitting people don't play the ps3 as much as they should), anything sony saids should be taken with a grain of salt unless they provide sources (which they didn't)FireEmblem74Have you seen the system sales month by month? PS3 is outselling Xbox 360 3 to 1... has been for nearly a year.
Yeah Sony is totally lying  I guess they are getting outsold yet the gap is closing.of course sony would say that

The PS3 usually sells more WW but not by very much. I cant believe you actually think that...lol
If they were tracking 360 sales, they'd know they're wrong, at least in NA. themyth01They're talking about worldwide.
How is it arrogance if its true[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="kuu2"]
More arrogance by a last place company.

Last I checked there is no reliable source that tells about Europes sales from week to week. In NA Sony is still getting outsold on a monthly basis. In Japan (the smallest of the major regions) Sony is selling better than the 360. Where is Sony getting their info from? They are just spouting off because they don't have sales figures from their competitors on a regular basis.
Sony is a large company so I'm sure they have their ways of knowing European sales. How is it arrogance if its true[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="kuu2"]

The big three have access to GFK-ChartTrack data that isn't publicised. If they were tracking 360 sales, they'd know they're wrong, at least in NA. themyth01Yeah, most of the world exists outside of NA, thats where most of the market exists too. We have facts that the WW gap is closing.

That's without factoring in that one can simply look at quarterly reporting for the three companies to determine the state of their hardware numbers.

No way, seriously? /sarcasm PS3 has been outselling 360 lately, never said it wasn't but it's not continuous like Sony makes it out to be. Otherwise Sony would have already passed 360 and it's still 5 million behind.
It's funny that people assume that Sony, MS, Nintendo have no idea what sales figures in EU look like. I'm sure they wouldn't be in business anymore if they can't even track there unit sales. Sony can easilly pull up it's own sales just by tracking all their shipping invoices to the EU region, it's not like they don't keep stock of where and how many PS3's they are sending out. I'm also assuming these are all fairly public to the stockholders of any of these companies, it's basic business to keep track of the competitor however they do it, I doubt it's hard. If I ran a lemonade stand and Japan, US, and EU were my customers I sure as hell would know what they bought from me. It's not the EU kid walks up pays his $1.00 and magically vanishes and my lemonade glass is empty...but I don't know how much was in it before.JynxzorApparently people are still convinced no one tracks Europe.
That it just sits in a vacuum, and the three companies just hope everything is going swimmingly.
Even after a chart of European hardware sales has been posted in this very thread.
They only matter when your favorite company is winning...VadameeSales matter as a source of information, not as a way for "my multi-billion company beat your multi-billion company" like fanboys in here go about it. The fanboy don't care about facts, they just to think their company is winning.

So it's only closed it by 3 million including the holiday season where systems sell up to millions per month. There have been months where the NA difference is significant enough that other areas would not make up for it for the PS3. But show me the numbers from a reputable source of weekly worldwide sales and then maybe we can admit Sony isn't BS'ing.[QUOTE="dercoo"][QUOTE="themyth01"] No way, seriously? /sarcasm PS3 has been outselling 360 lately, never said it wasn't but it's not continuous like Sony makes it out to be. The weekly hardware sales for the Japanese Media Create reports cumulated into monthly sales have consistently seen a gap exceeding the US NPD gap as far as I can recall.I posted a graphic from Iwata's presentation to investors from Nintendo's last quarterly earnings release on the last page, detailing European hardware sales.

 You want a reputable source to counter your guesswork? :? you think you know how much the PS3 is selling and Sony doesn't? :?the damage control

Sony isn't BS'ing nor MS ..... you are :? .How is it arrogance if its true[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="kuu2"]

Well, to be fair, chances are they are referring to the officially announced sales for 2009...where Sony sold 13 million consoles and MS sold 8 million or something. That is the best information anyone can work off of until the next set of official numbers - the quarterly financials - are released by both companies.
Do the sales figures also include consoles bundled with other things. Sony Bundles the PS3 with everything they sell over $1000 these days.
Well I guess everyone has been busy with E3, I haven't seen a Sony is outselling MS thread for a few days. One thing people seem to forget is that the gap stayed pretty much the same until Sony released a Slim and had a price drop last year. Of course it sold like crazy, but the last couple of months those sales have slowed. MS just announced a re-designed Xbox, and price drops on the Arcade, and guess what it will sell like crazy too. So I'd wait until closer to the end of the year to talk about who is outselling who.
On a personal note, I could care less who is in second place, but I don't look forward to it if the PS3 does outsell the 360 only because there will be 10,000 threads on here about how the PS3 dominates, and that of course then sales do matter.

Yes those count, just like when they were giving them away with TV sets a few months back. They just reduce the TV price to factor both units into the sale price.
