Sony PS3 Set To Reclaim RPG Throne?

New PS3 RPG

2010 is promising to be great, especially for RPG's on PS3. It looks like Demon's Souls is starting to get the ball rolling, but look at this RPG exclusive Trinity-- the battles look like from God of War.

Check out the freaky Monkey Cyclops hiding under a sheet of ice... for some weird reason...

Anyways, there seems to be a host of good RPG's returning to Sony's console, and luckily, we seem to be getting the 360 RPG's slowly and surely a la Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean.

I wonder how the RPG future is going to turn out for the PS3-- for the first time this generation, I feel that RPG's are going to start delivering, especially these JRPG's that seem to be coming from the land of the rising sun.

I have my fingers crossed for TGS to deliver some awesome new games, and though WKC2 has been announced, I'm holding my breath for Dark Cloud 3.

So what do you guys think about the trailer?

I know that Sony's Very own 1st Party Published Demon's Souls have a lot of people stoked here, so much in fact they imported it.

Sony isn't bringing Demon's Souls to the U.S. though...thank god for ATLUS doing the honors for those that don't like to import (PS3, region free.)

Level 5 is working on WKC2, and we still have yet to get WKC.

This mystery game may be cool, like Sony's Legend of Dragoon or something...

Also, console RPG's have been a joke compared to last gen, so whoever has the throne isn't too impressive. They need to crank out more RPG's for whatever home console, stat.

Yea I heard about Trinity some months ago but it is a pretty "obscure" title. Hopefully it's starting to surface.

Forgive me but that game looked terrible. And I'm actually pretty hyped for a monster hunter game so that is saying something.

When did they make RPGs a throne? I was not told of this!

Sony can keep their silly JRPGs :x. All I need is SO and FF to give me the kicks.

You forgot Versus XIII. VERSUS XIII. I would buy another PS3 to play that game right now.

Nomura just give me what I need. A mature kingdom hearts, minus the disney characters, that is focused on the story. Hell, throw in some romance between Noctis and Stella. In Nomura I trust!

That game you mean Demon's souls then let me tell a nice story about 4 months ago when Demon's souls was released in Asia I was begging my friends to import it with so we can devide shipping fees and it will be cheaper but when all of them watched game videos and trailer they said no thanks it looks very bad and it sux so I imported it alone and I had to pay $105 to get it but when i got the game and they saw me playing it they asked me to let them try it so I did let them try it all of them were like WOW! :O and the next day 12 of my friend imported it together.

WKC was very good but famitsu gave it a bad score 28/40 thats about 7/10 but I think WKC fighting style was very good and it will appeal to western audience more than japanese audience.

I dont want to sound too optomistic but I think we may hear about Dark Cloud 3 this TGS. Level 5 isnt stupid, Dark Cloud was a successful franchise, they wouldnt just throw it away.

Oh, I wasnt emphasising exclusives in Trinitys case, I was emphasising it because the PS3 is getting a good amount of RPG ports... like SO4 and ToV.

Yes, the PS3 IS getting a couple of exclusive RPGs which look of good quality, like Demons Souls and even 3D dot game heroes, but I really think it needs quite a bit more if its to catch up with the current RPG king..... the Wii :P

Well I cant say much about it I only p;ayed it for few hours at a friend house and from what I played it was very good not great graphics but still good the story was fine though I didnt get most of it and fighting style was fun more like MMOs fighting style but more organized and the tranformation rocks.

It honestly looks mediocre to bad for me. HOWEVER! I also thought that about DemonSouls and it evidently rocks. I shall wait and see.

Considering all the exclusives JRPGs for the 360 are now all going to the PS3, it's highly possible.
