I really like this genre, but the only turn based strategy games I have played are Advance Wars, Valkyria Chronicles, Greed Corps, and the Fire Emblem series.
I was watching videos for Disgaea 3 a long time ago to see if I would enjoy it and I just wasn't feeling it for some reason. But this trailer changed my mind on the series! Only thing im worried about is not understanding the story due to this being the fourth installment.

The Disgaea games are not connected, But there are ALOT of cameos .
it has to actually get good srpg games not carbon copy dime a dozen ones... *which disgaea is a dime a dozen srpg*

Probably because most companies know most American gamers don't give a damn about SRPG's. Seeing how the 360 mainly caters to American gamers, It makes sense is has very few.

The 360 did make a push to cater to the RPG crowd in the early years of this gen. Their offering did not include many SRPGs as far as I know.

Here be dragons! que? :? i'm guessing it means squad based role playing game...*shrugs*. Anyway, it's a tactical, turn based rpg game that have some elements of strategy games, they can be squad based, but I'm not sure if it's always the case.

I didn't know valkyria chronicles was on the Wii? I thought it was strictly a PS3/PSP title.
He's saying that Sega are SRPG kings because they made Shining Force and Valkyria Chronicles...or at least that's what I got out of it.
Anyways, I agree that the Sony systems (PSP mostly) are SRPG kings because the PSP has two of the greatest SRPGs of all time: Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics. Oh, and Valkyria Chronicles is ace.

Well Sony didn't make the Disgaea title rither. What TC meant is that Sony consoles have the best SRPG titles. Sony consoles have some of the best but not the best. I still think the DS alone holds that tittle.
Disgaea isn't really all that good of as a strategy title so much as having unique mechanics, tons of content, and being generally crazy. Sony does have a pretty strong SRPG lineup, however. Especially with Valkyria Chronicles.

The only thing about them is they seem to be slightly less animated than previous games. Maybe it's just my imagination ...
Trying to avoid watching much footage myself, so I wouldn't know. I checked out the new sprites and that was about it. I want this game to be fresh to me.

Here's hoping this won't flap. As NISA have been very incapable and niche for the longest I remember, and it irks me. As a Makai universe fan, I hate the in-jokes.
