You're telling me that MS bans people from XBL because they exploit a gliche in one game? That seems way excessive, especially for something the dev should be fixing. I can understanding banning people if they're using a hacked 360 to run pirated games, that a big deal, but over a gliche in the game. WTF?DerekLoffin
apparently people have yet to understand that someone who uses the glitch is not being banned. They get suspended for 24 hours and if they continue to do it then it leads to longer suspensions

That's a tiny bit better, but not much. Again, why suspend them from the entire service for using a gliche in one game? Particularly since all connections have to go through the XBL servers, why don't they just block the one game?[QUOTE="DerekLoffin"]You're telling me that MS bans people from XBL because they exploit a gliche in one game? For anyone that's confused, this is straight from Stephen Toulouse's Twitter:
"While IW works on getting the MW2 glitch fixed, people we catch using it will recieve suspensions from LIVE. Play fair everyone."
"For those asking, it's not new that we issue suspensions for cheating/glitching, and we do it for more then just MW2."
"...cheating suspensions are usually 24 hours for first offense. But egregious cheating can be 2 weeks!"
Wow that sucks and would be so annoying. If I was mischievous I would rent the PS3 version and just keep on doing this on the PSN for the lulz. People with the PS3 version might as well take advantage of this and unlock as much as you can, there's no body to stop them.
Has it occured to anyone how difficult it would be to suspend a user on PSN? It's free! They can just create a new account if they don't already have one. Not worth the effort for 1 glitch in 1 game.

OMG FOR THE LAST TIME, IT I S AGAINST THE TERMS OF SERVICE, THATS WHY YOU GET BANNED FROM XBOX LIVE.WTH? Really TC, you really think our gaming services should ban people for a glitch that the devs should fix. Geez, just how many gamers are going to be left on xbL if MS bans for every dang glitcher in every game?
I wonder if this ban does the same thing as the modders that got banned? Wonder if it lockes down their 360 from going online, or is it just banning that account. Either way if its just the account MS will make money from this move, cause joe blow glitcher will have to buy another account name lol.
I think it would be more of a service for MS to tell IW to fix their sorry ask game lol.
Actually, I would rather Sony not ban them. Might teach a lesson to the general populace how not to buy rehashes of games repeatedly that come out every year.that glitch is IWs fault so why should sony ban people? also MS has standards and a superior service and they care about the gamers who want to play the game for fun without any cheap ass glitcher ruining it and thats the reason MS took action so why would sony care when PSN is mediocre free service.

To clarify, they're not banning. They're suspending.
MS is not taking full responsibility for the situation. IW is still making patch. All MS is doing is sending a crystal clear message: Cheating is against the TOU. You cheat, you get punished. Full stop.
they shouldn't...its your game.you paid your money for it. you should be able to play it like you want to...microsoft are a$$holes for banning people

Except that when you connect to Xbox Live, you have to follow their rules. If you signed up to XBL, you agreed to those rules, and the consequences for breaking them.
I see it as MS making sure people enjoy their service. It is once again you get what you pay for. Sony is free so you have to deal with cheaters.[QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"]
[QUOTE="finalstar2007"]
Its funny that MS make you pay for online and then ban you if you use a glitch that happened because of the game developers while sony give you everything for free and dosent. thats why i dont believe anyone who says paying online is better ;)

so why havent there been more cheaters in more games.... the only other PSN online game i know that has cheaters is SOCOM and thats about it, besides its not about paid version free, its just like an IP disconnecting your internet service just because you stole someone elses movies, or music or w/e the case, it isnt up to the network provider, they are only there to give you a means to use the internet, its up to the people who make the actual product that should enforce any rules against them
mmm...there was flying in COD4 as well as the Creek and Overgrown glitches...There was Hangar and Makin glitches in W@W, pretty much all of the glitches you see on 360 (multiplats of course) were in PS3. With a smaller (and imho, less competitive) community, you don't here the furor as you would on the 360 versions. Some may say that it's not Sony's job to punish cheaters. They may also say that since XBL has a fee, they're just doing what they're supposed to.
In both cases, the end-result is the same: Microsoft is doing more for its subscribers than Sony is for its PSN users.

Umm MW2 is very competitive on the PS3...Anyways your right CoD4 had tons of glitches and was extremely easy to hack, something you think IW would have fixed before MW2 hit store shelves...After all the crap that happened in CoD4 due to hacked game saves you think IW would have learned their damn lesson...Nope!!!It recently came to light that you can hack your game save which enables you to either get all the special ops trophies, or you can play CoD6 on easy and get all the veteran trophies...Its only a matter of time before all the old exploits show up in multiplayer...lol @ Banning because of a glitch A glitch is a developer's problem, it's in the game. Why the **** would someone get banned for doing something that's IN THE GAME? Besides, the javelin glitch isn't even helpful or anything. You have to GET KILLED to GET KILLS. So what's the point? The guys I see doing the javelin glitch usually end up with more deaths than kills. So that just proves how stupid it is. I'd rather not use the glitch and get 30 or more kills and 10 or less deaths like I usually do than than run around trying to get close to people for them to kill me and risk getting 18 kills and 25 deaths or something like that. Also... whenever I see someone trying to do it to me, I just run away with my lightweight and marathon until they're far enough so the explosion wont kill me then I just shoot them. Who cares about the glitch. It's stupid and people shouldn't get banned for it. If anyone should be penalized, it's IW for not fixing it. Why should anyone EVER get penalized for something that's part of the game? I don't remember reading any rules that said you can't do it or you'll get banned. Messiahbolical-
I have to say I agree with the ifrst part, but you really should play CoD to know what gamers you are going up against. These are guys who would willingly rush into a group of enemies and die with Martyrdom in CoD4 just to get a lot of kills, and if someone is playing the a game how it shouldn't be played or griefing he/she should get penalized. You also don't take into account people who DON'T have lightweight and/or marathon when the killer might. They are patching it though.
Hey UnnDunn, where ya been man?? :PToo busy playing MW2. ;) lol, i want to play it so bad lol, but since im not really into playing online, im gonna wait until its cheaper since ill only be playing single player :P[QUOTE="navyguy21"][QUOTE="UnnDunn"]
I'm just glad we don't have to deal with aimbotters on 360.
UnnDunn
I LOL @ people who say "IW game IW should fix it"...
What do you think they're trying to do?
Plus I agree with MS.....also I LOL @ people who say "omg m$ is wrong for banning glitchers"
Those glithcers could get a life time ban, just because they suck @ COD doesn't mean they can glitch their way into kills
lol, i want to play it so bad lol, but since im not really into playing online, im gonna wait until its cheaper since ill only be playing single player :Pnavyguy21I was actually going to pass on the game, until my friend convinced me to get it. I'm glad he talked me into it.
