The gone for good bit looks like speculation. Still odd that they pulled it. Was it very buggy across many titles or just some edge cases? They could just implement a blacklist for games that have problems with it.
.....Though no PS5 games should be having a problem with it at least. Surely that functioning is part of the certification process for a PS5 release? It's a bit like a Switch game that doesn't work when docked.....it's not optional. The developer has to support that or the game doesn't get released.
*sigh*.....consoles.....where did it all go wrong? Somehow this is still Nintendos fault 😋.
The only other reason I can think of, and it's a stretch, is maybe someone at legal saw the feature and got spooked. The quick resume feature would essentially bypass the epilepsy warning after the first boot. But that is just wild speculation on my part. We will know more is MS also suddenly pull the feature (which hopefully they don't).
Anywho maybe it's just temporarily disabled while the issues are worked out. Or maybe they are making that blacklist and checking it twice.... Hopefully it does return.
