um no, the family PC has an Athlon 64 X2 that does Folding@Home. It has integrated graphics and seeing as how the ATI X1900 GPUs obliterate the PS3 at Folding, i'd rather buy a $200 video card for that PC to fold and an Xbox360 than a $600 console with no games.
P.S. The comp cost $400 to build so actually it would be about the same price as a PS3.

Athlon 64 X2 for under $400? 3800 overclocked, bought it when it was $150, now it's like $100. Nice. I just bought an Opteron 165 and OC'd it to 2.2 Ghz (stock 1.8). I think I could squeeze out a bit more but it's fine the way it is. Game on!
Is this going to be like the rumble news where its confirmed one week then debunked the next week, then confirmed, or like the warhawk news where its a disk, then a download then a disk again? These people say whatever they think will sell the most units at the time they say it and then change the announcements if they think saying something else will sell more at different times. All the companies do it and we all fall for it like idiots every time because they are saying what we want to hear.
