[QUOTE="tango90101"][QUOTE="Javy03"][QUOTE="tango90101"][QUOTE="Javy03"][QUOTE="jedigemini"] The PS3 version of Maddentanking on the PS3 is absolutley HORRIBLE news for Sony. Expect this to impact future support for the platform. Playstation and Madden were once like bread and butter... no more :(

Sony: UBS Sees Trouble In Weak Performance Of Madden '08 On PS3
Posted by Eric Savitz UBS software analyst Benjamin Schachter today noted that the blogosphere is "full post posts highlighting the relatively weaker performance" of Electronic Arts' (ERTS)Madden NFL '08 game on the Sony (SNE) Playstation 3 compared to the Microsoft (MSFT) Xbox 360.
Sony today is down 16 cents at $46.58.

LOL...Madden and Sony were never like bread and butter. Madden on ESPN was ALWAYS played on an MS console. When the PS2 was out first it was the Xbox and now the 360. Madden actually got the same score on the PS3 as it did on the 360. Expect the only thing this will affect will be EA's next madden on the PS3. Expect it to be at 60fps just like the 360 one that had two 30fps games before they mastered it at 60fps.
Didn't Jack Tretton come to sony from EA?
and if you remember last gen, there was a point when EA stated, "We will not support XBOX live"...
and why? because they had a great working relationship with sony..
i heard sony helped keep ea games off the dc...
sounds pretty tight to me...;)
Jack Tretton coming to Sony from EA doesnt mean Sony and EA are tight, it just means Sony offered him more. If I leave my job for another job that doesnt mean my job is tight with the job I am going to, it means I am reaching for more somewhere else. As for your quote... I never heart that quote and them not supporting live doesnt mean a thing. Madden was always played on tournaments and on ESPN on Xbox consoles.
You seem to have alot of here say but nothing concrete. EA not going to DC doesnt mean it was Sonys doing, it could be EA wanting to crush 2k sports. And as for the XBOX live quote, online was not standard and not nearly as huge or important like this gen. IT still supported the Xbox console and the Xbox console always got the better scoring madden last gen.
the fact sony worked with ea to keep them off the dc should be proof of their working relationship.
i'm sorry you never heard the quote, but EA flatly refused to support xbl in the beggining....
the xbox got the better version of madden last gen b/c it had the better hardware...like this gen..;)
if ea wanted to crush 2k sports, they would have had a better chance WITH the dc support... more sales...
So again what is your point, you claim SOny and EA were so tight but then you admit the best Madden always went to the Xbox systems. So what did Sony actually gain from this "tight" releationship you claim....Jack?
My point is the PS3 having a 30fps madden just like the 360 did for two editions of madden is not a big deal and at least this gen. madden on the PS3 and 360 are very comprable.l Look at the GS score, they BOTH got the same score...8.5.
what did sopy gain? lead consideration for development and marketting... ever notice how most of EA games had the "PS2" logo after every commercial, even tho xbox versions were available? i did...;)
it's more than 30 fps that's the prob. it's the prob that $600 hardware as being perceived as chugging along while a console almost half the price runs smoothly....
given the casuals dislike for expensive gaming and madden being a proven system seller, this is really bad news for sony and the ps3.
