amirite? I know I spend more time playing old Ps1 & 2 jRPGs than I do with any of this new-school video-movie rubbish that they're trying to convince me is a game that's worth money. I'm sorry, but just: No. Sony is like the little kid in elementary school that is always trying to act like they're interested in what you're interested in but they just aren't and when you finally take them under your wing and teach them about the really cool things they run off and act like they don't know you and that they discovered all this **** on their own. Sony is just riding coat-tails and occasionally tripping on them. Microsoft? They suck too. I want to play new games. I don't want Gears of War clones and Call of Halo: Medal of Modern Warfare over and over again... and just stop with the Kinect. It's rubbish. It's nonsense. I don't want to play a "game" that has Stormtroopers running into my lightsaber, thanks. I CAN'T EVEN MOVE. THEY JUST KEEP RUNNING UP TO ME AND KILLING THEMSELVES. My whole life is on rails already, I don't need you guys trying to take away my fantasy worlds and replacing them with suicidal rail shooters. Nintendo? ^$%# them. They think they're hip and cool but they haven't released a decent NEW game since Pikmin and that game arguably sucks. And $%^& people for buying all the shovelware that Nintendo keeps releasing. THEY AREN'T GOING TO MAKE REAL GAMES UNTIL YOU STOP BUYING THEIR GARBAGE.
While I do like JRPGs, no console manufacturer should center their console around one genre. Sony's got a good balance, where as Microsoft loves their shooters and Nintendo their platformers.
I hate RPG's, Japenese or Western. I don't know if I could ever be friends with someone who flat out just "hated" RPGs. I don't know how that happens. There's something off there.
um ok.... i like jrpgs too, but the ps1 and ps2 had all kinds of games, not just jrpgs. the ps3 will get alot too when it really his old age because it will be so cheap to make games for it. do you only play jrpgs? if so, i suggest you play other games.

With Square Enix in such bad shape? No thanks... The last thing i want is a bunch of RPGs that look almost identical to what we already get these days, plus RPGs cost a lot of money to make and if it backfires it can kill a developer, so only the really popular RPGs are worth taking the risk such as FF as we can see from the fact there's like 20 of them shows they just aren't willing to risk a new IP when you can just milk one to death first.
Interesting how people claim Microsoft's Xbox 360 is highly FPS centralized. People seem to forget that two to three years ago, the console had quite a few exclusive JRPGS released when the PS3 barely had any. If anything, Microsoft's library is much more balanced than Sony's if at least equal.

the current library on consoles is seriously lacking so gamers moved on, if they could bring the good JRPGs back, I guess the genre will flourish again.

Just like the Dreamcast? :P but the dreamcast stopped production like 10 years ago. the ps3 is still on the market. big difference.When I read "old age" I immediately thought of the PS3 post-production. Did you know there's still Dreamcast games released nowadays? xD
