Sony could make a console stronger and better than Xbox360 but it didnt WHY??????

They spent too much time on Blu-Gay and The Celery processor, they were gonna develop the GPU like they did for PS2 but that was scratched off the list and they turned to nVIDIA the last moment and it costed them and came up with a mediocre GPU that doesn't even touch a 7800GTX in reality, since it's a downclocked version. They pretty much screwed up the most important part of a gaming system: the GPU.Sony could make a console stronger and better than Xbox360 but it didnt WHY??????

It is a more powerful machine, its just too damn expensive.MGS9150Yeah, it is more powerful. It's just much less efficient than the 360. And if you take the Cell into account, the PS3 may in fact have better graphics than the 360 one day. It'll just take a very long time.

The 360 has the better gpu and architecture, and the PS3 has the better CPU. They're actually going to be pretty equal in the graphics dept. when all is said and done. It's just going to take a long time for the PS3 to catch up.so wich system is more powerfull because I heard that Xbox360 is more powerfull.

I guess because, they (SONY)wanted to make it more like a DVD player, that happens to play games , ..you know a,blu-ray player.....i guess , because thats what they are use to .....(DVD PLAYERS).........

Actually, the RSX is more powerful, the Xenos just has unified shaders. That's really the difference b/w the two consoles this gen... the PS3 is more powerful but the 360 is easier to program for.

lol, the PS3 has already caught up. The only 360 game out now that is better than most out on the PS3 is GeOW.

It's not more powerful just because of it's unified shaders, the 48 pipelines, the embedded DRAM, and other little DX10 elements it supports.[QUOTE="-GeordiLaForge-"][QUOTE="MGS9150"][QUOTE="Xeonz"][QUOTE="ChromeHydrolics"]They spent too much time on Blu-Gay and The Celery processor, they were gonna develop the GPU like they did for PS2 but that was scratched off the list and they turned to nVIDIA the last moment and it costed them and came up with a mediocre GPU that doesn't even touch a 7800GTX in reality, since it's a downclocked version.Sony could make a console stronger and better than Xbox360 but it didnt WHY??????

I never said that it didn't have more peak shader power, because it does. But it's inefficiency will make this a moot point. I said that the Xenos is more advanced and efficient, which it is. The RSX will never be maxed out because so many cycles get wasted through unused pipelines. And the floating point processors in the EDRAM in the Xenos can perform MSAA and HDR. The RSX will take a hit performing either. And it's hardware limits it from performing AA and HDR at the same, atleast for quite a while. Developers developed a new integer based HDR that the RSX can do at the same time as FSAA, but it uses the shader pipelines, which decreases it's shader power even further. The RSX is stripped down technology from 2005. The Xenos includes technology that wasn't seen anywhere else until the release of the 8800gtx. And some of the tech has yet to be seen in other products...Please Log In to post.
