I don't know why they picked 10 million. Are they delusional?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
They must really be banking on COD.
Only way this will happen is if they have a pricecut before Black Friday.
Everyone on here is too short-minded. We shall see. I won't say it is impossible nor say it is going to happen. Just wait and see. Everyone will call doomed and then a game is shown next week. Then everyone's minds apparently forgets what they said last week.ShadowDeathX
No amount of games is going to fix the main problem which is the price.
Aren't they already at about 2m worldwide?
I really don't see that being a problem considering holiday sales and all. They just need to start releasing a reason to own the system and they will be fine.
Nobody seems to remember how bad the PSP started off. Now people still call that a failure yet it sold more than the 360 and outselss the Wii more often than not.
I really think the Vita will be fine. Just needs software and time.

PSP launch was miles better compared to the PS Vita launch and first year on the market.
their year ends in March 2013 and they have already sold almost 2 millions. And this is like 2 months old....

Those 2 millions don't count towards the fiscal year forecast.
Sony "expects" PSV to sell 10 millions starting from April 1st. With no pricecut in sight and with dat E3 Vita lineup.
Not to mention Nintendo's great E3 3DS lineup, both in terms of core support and selling power. The gif in my sig is appropriate for E3 2012 if we only consider handhelds :P
This is not counting the 1.8 million they have already sold, they want to sell 10 million MORE this year. And the PS Vita sells ~450,000 units worldwide every month (25,000 in Japan, 225,000 in US, 250,000 in EU and AU). If it continues at this rate, AND it gets a boost to, say, 700,000 units in the holidays, then it still still have managed only 5.9 million units for the year. Sony's 10 million target is delusional. What's your point?their year ends in March 2013 and they have already sold almost 2 millions. And this is like 2 months old....

Lets be generous and say they sell 300k a month until October and add 1 million a month from October to December. After that lets put that at 150k in January, 200k in Feburary and 225k in March to end their fiscal quarter.
1.8 million from June to August.
3 million for October-December
575k for January to March.
Grand total sales LTD is 8ish million units. I feel like my numbers are pretty damn generous considering the Vita is currently selling 200k a month worldwide. Assuming that EU sales are similar to US sales. It would take an act of God for the PS Vita to hit 10 million sales.
Sony will HAVE TO drop some sort of bomb at their Game Heaven show, but hey that was what they were supposed to do at E3, so I'm not holding my breath. TGS is not until 2-3 months away so they're obviously expecting sales to pick up ASAP.

Yeah, I think that if they were to call a price drop close to the holiday season, then with AC and CoD, it would be very attainable.

Price drop not coming, Sony said so themselves. I expect a price drop some time next year and bundles such as the AC: Liberation + 4gb memory card + white PSV.Sony must have something up there sleeve we dont know about if they think they're going to sell 10Mill by next year.LP4EVA2005If they don't announce it later this month at Game Heaven they're delusional.

starting to sound like a scratched CDThat won't help it either. Why would anybody buy a costlier handheld to play a game they can already play on a system they either already own, or is substantially cheaper, and a system that has a bigger and better library to boot? The Vita needs something like Final Fantasy XV exclusive to it.Unless MH4 is announced as a multiplat for vita they wont even get close to that.

Thing is all of those games will also be playable on other platforms lol. They really should've announced Rockstar's game at this year's E3..Unless MH4 is announced as a multiplat for vita they wont even get close to that.
