Is is just me or are the majority of sony execs exceedingly arrogant and uninformed. I mean comeone Sony is the 26th largest corp in the world, can they at least assign a decent team of execs to a project that has kept Sony above the redline for over 10 years(Playstation). I mean if the PS is Sony's flagship, why do we have people like Tretton and Krazy Ken, destroying the Sony of olds hard earned reputation. On a side note the marketing for the PS3 as abysmal.

The fact of the matter is the gaming industry is a completely different ballpark than the digital camera, laptop and electronics industry and Sony doesn't seem to understand that. At least Microsoft knows how things work.

Have you ever heard Bill Gates speak about the 360? He might not make stupid claims but he doesn't know much about console gaming. Microsoft further down the ladder has some better guys because they were making games and had game studios long before they got into making consoles. So some of the head of those departments do know what they are talking about.
Krazy Ken only became "crazy" following the success of the PS1. In Sony's humble approach to the gaming industry they let the games and hardware speak for themselves, not the ranting of a PR exec on crack!!! Now its a common to read or hear Sony's execs making outrageous comments with little merit and powerpacked with 100% bullsh!t....
But to answer your initial question, Sony can affort decent execs but Sony only invests in deception these days. So the smooth talking, product selling, customer pleasing execs of the past are not wanted, only the Enron, used car salesman type execs are needed to push a product as flawed as the PS3....
