I do like PC gaming. I primarily game on my PC, in fact. That being said, you know and I know that a lot of people out there need a simple plug-in-and-go device for their television set. For me, my first gaming experience was at an arcade but back when I was a kid, gaming PCs were few and far between (Think Tandy computers here).

Let's also be honest about this. The WiiU was too little and too late to ride the hype for tablets while MSes original vision for the XBox One was utterly reprehensible. The PS4 is about as close as you could get to making a traditional console. Although, I don't agree with their decision to make the online pay-to-play, that doesn't mean that the blueprint for a successful console hasn't become plain as day to everyone. The PS4 was what the industry needed before bad ideas cannibalized a good thing.

I noticed that. I worked in GAME last black Friday, and it was easily the most hellish day of the year, most of us were well overworked and felt ill at least for a day afterwards. This year I went into that same GAME store and it was just like any other late year business day, sure it was not dead, but it was easily a flop for Black Friday and how many staff they had in to cover it.

Ha yeah it was black Friday that made me be determined to find another job, so I guess I have that to thank for for me now having a decent job working in a University.

It's not fun to work for GAME, anyone considering it, I simply say - don't, the higher ups treat the shop staff like shit, and pay them minimum wage but being strict on tracking and targets... yuck. And yeah the console and tech trades are just not worth it sometimes, back then we had probably about 100 preowned XBOX 360s in our storeroom, and that just grew, we weren't selling any (for obvious reasons)...

Yes Amazon had greeat deals last year. I think this year I actually only found decent deals in Tesco and Sainsbury's where I bought Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Forca 6 for £26 and £25 respectively.

I am gaming comfortably with my PC on my TV, I don't see any problem, except I need to use my wireless keyboard sometimes. And consoles are not "plug and play" anymore.

People shouldn't support a console but the games.. PS4 in itself is nothing without the games. PC gaming is more vague as it encompasses basically everything to do with gaming...it's highly customisable and can easily be as accessible as consoles....It has games galore...

Xbox one and PS4 are dependant on the games they offer...while PC will continue through every generation just doing what it has always been doing...Be the top in the class. Xbox One and PS4 can be seen as the leash that holds PC gaming so that it doesn't leap ahead and cause what ever cataclysms in the industry...

Humans aren't always consistent....I assure you that I like joking in threads sometimes but at least I put context and make sure that people can see that I'm teasing.. At the same time I have the right to discuss whenever I want with my own perspectives and interpretations...

While what he said is a bit extreme and I wouldn't go that far, he does have a point. The number of people like us with high end gaming rigs is not large enough to support the AAA gaming industry. Most people have potatoes that are only strong enough to run Minecraft and Solitaire. Consoles provide a healthy install base for AAA game development and rather than scoff at consolites, us PC gamers should support them because in the end we all need each other as gamers :).

With that said, SDC. Good to hear Sony is doing well this Black Friday. I'd also like to congratulate MS on doing well too. November NPD thread is going to be exciting, I wonder if we'll get any meltdowns from the usual suspects.

Why is it even remotely doubtful? Xbox One has won black friday back to back when it was in an even worse position, not to mention there were like 8 different bundles and actual new big games that released for the holidays this year...

It's not even going to be close, even VGChartz little shitty analysis methods have the Xbox One pegged at 90,000 above the PlayStation 4 which may not be accurate but it's a pretty good indicator of sales dominance.

Why do you think the PlayStation 4 is $299 for the holidays? Sony is pulling an Xbox One and dropping the price because it can't compete on level footing during the holidays.
