Sony To Sell 33 Million Hardware Units By March 31 2008

It's called Playstation Domination. Here's another detailed look at some Playstation stats that were in the latest Playstation In Review:

Since November 2nd, and the availability of both the 40GB and 80GB
PS3 models, PS3 hardware unit sales in North America have
increased by 330%.

This holiday season, 54 new titles will be available to PS3 users
either on disc or via download from PLAYSTATION®Network,
including Assassin's CreedTM, Call of Duty 4: Modern WarfareTM, Guitar
Hero III: Legends of RockTM, HazeTM, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of
DestructionTM, Rock BandTM and Uncharted: Drake's FortuneTM.

According to the latest Nielsen data April - November 2007,
PS2 is the most played videogame console averaging 42.2% usage
minutes compared to 11.8% for Xbox 360 and 5.5% for Wii.

In North America alone there are more than 1.8 million
registered users with more than 34.5 million downloads.
Currently PLAYSTATION®Store has more than 650 pieces of
content available to download providing users with a
plethora of entertainment options.

A recent PLAYSTATION Network price promotion for Calling
all CarsTM, Everyday ShooterTM, OwTM and Pixel Junk RacersTM
resulted in a combined 920% increase in total downloads.

· PlayStation hardware revenue is up 95% in North America when

compared to last year-January - October.

· PlayStation generates 46% of videogame software sales in

North America.

· PlayStation forecast: 33 million hardware units and 250 million

software units worldwide by March 31, 2008.

This will never happen in a million years. Nothing would have changed game-wise from here till March so why would sells increase at such a huge margin?

yep. and we all know that means something like 10% of the total for ps3 and the rest for ps2 and psp.

30 million by mid 08? LOL!!! Sony will be lucky to have reached 10-12 million by March 08, LUCKY!! These statements about PS3 selling 20-30 million by the end of 08 is simply ridiculous. The PS3 is selling better and that is a start, and I am sure by the end of 08, they will have about 15-17 million, but 30? LOL

even when you combine all sony consoles in one, they still won't come close to outselling nintendo's combined consoles (all sony consoles combined couldn't even outsell the DS alone in NA :lol: :lol: )....so this whole "sony family" thing fails on so many levels that its not even funny anymore

You must be sucking at the game you play cause you never seem to run out of "Sony is gonna sell X amount of X by X time" I mean dude, I like my PS3, but the system blows right now and you making threads about impossible sales predications is not going to help it.

Sony acts as if these holiday sales last forever. And that will be their dissappointment in March.

And I'll stand there laughing, a business that's been in the business for 10 years can't even recognize the most recognizable market trends.

actually...sony has stated that sale predictions for the ps3 is gonna be 11 million, or something close to that....i think now they mean the whole playstation family...psp + ps2 + ps3 = 30 million by that time.

Let me check the divine water in my sink. I see the current PS3 sales increase is just a fad not lasting past January. I see Sony continuing to rely on the PS2 until next Q3 of 2008. I see more threads using ambiguos terms to tell the truth while fooling the common folk.
