This "source" basically is throwing out a number of combined sales of sony gaming units. Its possible,but i would have to wait and see dec sales figures for the PS family. I really do not forsee a huge jump in sales after theholiday, unless they do another price cut.

Read it again. I think they are counting PS3, PS2 and PSP sales in this forcast.

Why would they be predicting 33 million PS2 sales, world wide? They've already sold almost 130 million. It can't include PS2 numbers. That makes no sense.

ON the other hand, Sony has already had to downplay their fiscal year end numbers from 12 million to 11 million (or less).

sure it makes since. the ps2 commonly outsells the ps3. and they are talking about sales for the year. not lifetime.

I know Sales don't matter when i'm playing Medal of Honor heroes 2, battalion wars 2, guitar hero 3, super mario galaxy, manhunt 2, super paper mario, resident evil 4, metroid prime 3, zack & wiki, NiGHTS: journey of dreams, the godfather, mario strikers charged.

and sales don't influence games like Monster Hunter 3, Fatal Frame, Dragon Quest Swords, Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers, Final Fantasy Young King and the Promised Land, No More Heroes, Endless Ocean, Spore (as far as I know), Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Tales of Symphonia 2 to say no to PS3 versions and opted instead for other consoles, namely the Wii.

geez, sales never put okami, devil may cry 3, tekken on Sony platforms?

Oh, yeah I almost forgot to tell you I'm being sarcastic.

This is plausible, if you count the Ps2 and PSP. As for PS3, they willbe luck to sell over 15m units

even when you combine all sony consoles in one, they still won't come close to outselling nintendo's combined consoles (all sony consoles combined couldn't even outsell the DS alone in NA :lol: :lol: )....so this whole "sony family" thing fails on so many levels that its not even funny anymore

That explains your response then. Sony has said they will sale 5.5 million PS3s this year, 10 million PS2s and that would only leave 16.5 million units for the PSP. Now they may have sold more PS2s then what they originally projected but this is a breakdown of the numbers. The sales period is from March 2007 to March 2008. I don't know why you all are getting so worked up over the 33 million number.
