There is a real chance Sony will falter in a few years and we may really not see a PS4. I think it is a real possibility that Sony breaks into small divisions and may pull a Sega and drop out of the gaming business.

Seriously, No. They won't. This is yet another year of 3 systems coexisting. The only difference is the place in which they come out at the end.

I don't see it coming. So far, the PS3 has done ok in sales (though not as good as the other consoles), and will surely sell more once the price drops. Also, with alot of big releases in the future, it can only get better for Sony.

The difference is, GameCube was alwaysprofitable. Nintendo always makes sure they sell their consoles with a profit built-in.

What is the deal with people wanting Sony to stop making the Playstation. I doubt many people were saying this when the PS was the most popular console on the market, or when the PS2 was selling like crazy. Now that MS and Nintendo can legitimately compete with Sony everyone wants them gone. Now befoure anyone says anything about MS and Nintendo legitimately competing, the N64 lacked just enough that Sony pulled ahead, the Gamecube had only a handful of good games and the Xbox was good, but being that it only sold 40 million to the PS2's 120 million plus when the new gen started shows that it was still lacking. Back to the point, Sony is making some of their best games ever, they are finally starting to pull exclusive content again, and the PS3 and its games are doing better. Why do people want them gone. I own all of the consoles, I love my PS3 and my 360 (sorry Wii, MadWorld isn't enough) and wouldn't get rid of any of them. Without Sony, who would MS target as their competition? MS just wants to beat Sony, so they do what they can to do that, without that competition they don't have to try. Besides that, if Sony left, there would be no Uncharted, no Killzone, no Resistance, no God of War. Sony isn't leaving and I hope they never do. Between the console and games, I will always buy their products.

Whether people think so or not, Sony is here to stay. Yes, they had a very rocky start with the PS3 and they didn't have very many exclusives, but they're slowly turning it around. Sony has most likely learned their lesson with the PS3 and how it started, so I'm sure they'll use that knowledge on the PS4. Sony does still have some issues that need worked out, but what company doesn't?

you people have to realize that sony was trying something new this gen.

sony has made a wrong at the begging of this gen they was thinking that they will lanched an very expensive console without a strong line-up that would sell like ps2. of course this wrong has cost them billons but now they have fixit (ps3 has becomethe console with the best line-up)and i am sure that they won't give up. the will release ps4 but with another strategy (cheaper with good exclusives)

Not very likely, Sony may be in trouble times when it comes to it's Playstation brand(Not as successful financially as previous iterations) but the brand itself never mind as a company is a long way from failing
