overall nintendo. i dont have an issue with buying their games day one as i know they are, for the most part, in good shape at launch. they do expansion packs for some of their games now but the base games for those are not exactly lacking either (though i dont get their release strategy for Splatoon and arms.....very few maps with free ones added later. odd). nintendo are not perfect. BOTW has performance issues that were never sorted on the wiiu (i hear they are mostly sorted on the switch) and xenoblade 2 is not as smooth running as xenoblade X (though overall it was still released in good shape).
probably the one area that would let them down on the polish front is online. the online experience is not great from what i hear (i dont use it personally).
Sony: generally solid at launch but more dugs certainly get through. at lest they did on the PS3. they can also look very polished but the gameplay can be anything but. i dont have a PS4 so i dont know if things have improved. are there big day 1 patches for many of their games?
they do have the record for worst out of the box experience for me in a game though: GT6. if i put my GT6 disc into a new PS3 it will take 8 hours to patch before i can play it. 8 FRICKIN HOURS. im not exaggerating either. i had to disable the auto shutdown setting on the PS3 because it would time out. some of those patches are extra stuff yes but 8 hours.....thats insane (this is on a 100Mb/s connection that is working just fine). i dont want to know what horror state that was released in.
I cant comment on MS. i hear the master chief collection was a dumpster fire at launch but i never played it.
