"Group victories aren't victories at all" they say.
Right now, Sony is more worried about the Wii in Japan than about the 360 (of course, they know the 360 momentun there will not last very much), so they recur to those cheap declarations.
They will never join, and even if they do, it wouldn't be sure that they outsell the Wii.
Microsoft has nothing to gain if Sony decides to jump in. Let Sony be in last place and Microsoft is good enough being second place in hardware but first place in software.
Nintendo and the wii rules, Microsoft and Sony could not stop the wii even if they did form together.randomguy15
Why not, combining the game library of both the PS and the XBOX, not to mention the wealth of both companies would definitely create amazing console.

If the Wii keeps selling at it's current rate it will not be long before it has the most software sells also. You can say attach rate all you want but when there is two to three times the installer base on the Wii then attachment rate means nothing because there is so many more people that can buy the game. Like with what you have with the DS or PS2.
The DS has a low attachment rate of like 4.5 or 5 I forget. But there is so many DSs on the market it does not matter what the attachment rate is.

I would love to see that one less console to buy next gen. Buying the three I have costs way to much.

3rd party sells are horrible on the wii
lol no.
i'm glad the way things are going.
the way things are set up this gen is perfect IMO. All of the crappy 3rd party devs. (ones that make shovelware or games that I, personally am not interested in) are making Wii games. These games sell. Then that money goes towards the awesome devs. (ones that make games that I want to play) so they can make more good games for PCS360 (these games sell as well, if they are good). And also, there is no evidence that good devs (IMO) are shifting to Wii. So no I wouldn't want that. Wiis popularity coupled with it's target audience ensures this trend take away the popularity part and it stops.
And anyway it would not work because competition between sony and MS = better for gamers.

Umm....It has already proven since March of this year, and by companies such as Capcom, EA etc that third-party sell through rate are simply phenomenal on the Wii! In fact, third-party TOTAL software sales on the Wii are even better than the X360 (Again, the number game here).
