lol, I guess it's good if you want to go back and play some great PS2 games with a lack of BC.

I would lol if Sony said "Screw it, we're focusing on the PS2 again!" and gives up support on the PS3. That would never happen, but I would laugh all day as system wars exploded.

Only if you assume that Sony was only planning on announcing 1 thing on Tuesday and that this is that 1 thing.

Though I have been thinking about getting a PS2 before, maybe just maybe I'll get one someday. But a PS3 with BC might be a bette buy for me tough it seems extremely rare to find now.

Well we'll find out Tues. However it seems odd that they would inform people of an announcement that's hush hush until Tues, and it's just a price drop on PS2.

Does this mean the PS2 is going be unsupported by Sony soon?

yeah, I've always wanted one. I just wanted to get a PS3 first before I work my way back and get a PS2 and Wii.

I doubt this is the only news they're announcing if this PS2 price drop is true. I bet they'd announce something for both PS2 and PS3, but who knows.

Call it what you want, but you're wrong. I never owned a PS2. I owned a PS1 and now own a PS3. I couldn't afford a PS2 when it was out since I was essentially living on student loans and scholarship money.

business wise sony is in damn trouble if they still refuce to drop the PS3's price. doesn't matter what games come out on the system. They need to drop its price because this thing is not selling anywhere near what they need to make a profit. What is happening to sony with the PS3 is what was happening with microsoft with the first xbox. ZERO profits, except microsoft isnt hurt by something like this while sony is devastated. Whether anyone likes it or not, they ARE in trouble this generation.

It most likely true. Which is why people should never get hyped for these big announcements, They normally are nothing major.
