Sony's damage control on April NPD sales: Themselves, MS says nada

What has to be the funniest damage control i seen.... Sony says that lack of software was why they didnt sell as good as should ....

I call that damage control....the 360 at this point last year had nothing be 3 multiplatform games April of last year and still manage to get 200,000 units.....it also seems like taey lost faith in lair when  Dave Karraker said what game might bring sales up. Even if lair does spike sales up Sony has to wait til July for that to happen... so expect more of a drop in sales over the next month or so. M$ kept their mouths shut over the 20,00 drop from last month...hell they should...since they hype the hell outta the elite and saw nada produced...as and their biggest game of the month was already inputed in last months npd.Dont need to talk about the wii...it's hot as it can possibly be...and I'll expected a huge sales hike when mario party 8 releases this month.

you forget ps3 costs alot more than 360 and when people see the price and see the lack of games they think no chance

plus 360 sold well cos it was the only next gen console at the time now ps3 has to fight against 2 cheaper consoles

so in order for the ps3 to sell it has to be in a market of its own with no rivals? its been 7 months since the ps3 release and sales have just dropped. i think we will see that price drop very soon.

thats not what hes saying the guy said the xbox360 managed to sell x amount this time last year...why cant the ps3 the original poster did not take into account that the 360 was the only next gen platform available

Its nobody's falut at all.  Games are still coming.  Big deal a few useless exclusives are coming to other systems.  Sony even admited that it wouldn't be fair to rockstar to only release GTA4 on PS3 only at this point.  Sony's strategy is still the same as last time.  Wait it out until your last gen console is finally outsold by the competition and then drop the price on the new console once the games come out(Sept).  The only difference is that this time they came out last.  Same strategy.  Not suprising at all.  Why would they drop the price now?  Even if it was the same price as the 360 its not worth it for the selection of games out currently.  Not worth it for 30,000-40,000 a month in sales compared to the big picture.  It isn't like the 360 is exactly flying off the shelves right now.  The Wii isn't even in this race.  Its in a totally different price bracket as both the 360 and PS3 so comparisons are useless.
