beating nintendo at their own game just for kicks
Please no, I do pray this does not come to fruition, either way this far into the gen it would only end up as a unpurchased peripheral with little to no games for it.Jynxzor
Let them go for it, just for the lulz.

Um, it's kind of easy beating somebody at their own game when you have the benefit of coming AFTER the predecessor. It's the coming up with something out of nowhere that tends to be the hard part.
One thing that did the Genesis in (albeit a minor thing) was multiple controllers. This is a good way to confuse the consumer: make a controller that doesn't specify which games it works with and which games would be better off with a 3 button one. What if somebody buys a fighting game or The Lost Vikings only to find out that they can't play it due to the lack of XYZ buttons?
SixAxis isn't a very good motion sensor, wouldn't this controller basically just be one controller with TWO Sixaxis sensors?MetroidPrimePwn
They think the only thing Nintendo had over the Sixaxis was TWO sensors instead of one. There are far more factors than that (controller design, for one).
I call BS on this one. Would Sony really be dumb enough to come out with another controller right after Dualshock 3 came out? Wait a second, we are talking about Sony here...Giant_Panda
True. Those with good a memory will recall that there were actually three official controllers for the original Playstation...
The purely digital one that it launched with:
Then came the "Dual Analog":
And then finally the Dual Shock:
It won't help the sinking Sorny. It's like putting perfume on a pig.

LOL that has got to be the funniest thing i have heard on SW in months! I almost peed a little in my shorts!
I just dont see this coming out with any kind of success in the the near future, or even this gen.

We? You and I are just costumers. However, it's true that usually new features released by Nintendo get improved in such a way that it actually end up being even more awesome then the original.
Also, if this does get alot of support and released early, like this year, developers could just update their previous games to the control sheme and new games can make full use of it.
So this means we'll see alot more games on PS3. Why? Multiplats for X360/PS3 will still be there, and new project might go for Wii/PS3 multi-plat combo aswell since it covers even more costumers. This, if supported correctly, would give both the PS3 and Wii a nice boost in the back. Especially PS3, since the reason besides the risk developers avoid the Wii is it's lack of power.
So I'm pro PS-mote

I'm glad I entertained somebody for once. :)
[QUOTE="TheMistique"][QUOTE="legend26"]we made rumble betterEXACTLY. Sony has never come up with ANYTHING themselves. All they do is create subpar ripoffs of what Nintendo has already done.

If we want to be nitpicky Nintendo stole Joysticks from aracade machines,JynxzorRemeber Analog sticks are not the same as Joysticks.
1982 The Vectrex was the first system to use an analog stick.
1995 Sony created the FlighStick. Which used two analog sticks. Not the ones we are used to today but same technology.
June 23, 1996 Nintendo introduced the modern analog stick with their controller
July 5, 1996 Sega Saturn bundled the Saturn 3D control pad with some copies of Nights into Dreams... which featured an analog stick
November 1996 Sony released the Dual Analog controler
1997 Sony releases Dual Shock
Don't count on it. You need only look at say the original dualshock or the eyetoy to realize that developers rarely put any meaningful support in an accessory controller.[QUOTE="TheMistique"]
