I was watching TV the other night and saw commercials for Goldeneye Reloaded and then at the end it shows the PS3 system and then does the whole sony logo sound thing. I remember following Goldeneye and seeing it's on pretty much everything but if you watch the commercial it definately gives you the feel that Sony is claiming ,"This is ours!!" For the people who are going to say "Becuz ps3 is da only system you needz to play on" I wouldn't be claiming goldeneye as a good defense.

..... the 360 does it all the time with call of duty and i didn't see you complaining then, the only reason you see the ps3 logo is because they paid to advertise it becaue their trying to sell the move and the gun attachment.

This is just a sony advertising for the game, it happens on all the systems. If MS pays for the advertising it would have shown them instead. The times when all systems are listed is when the game company paid for the advertising

Its probably because Sony is paying for that advertisement. Both Sony and Microsoft do this, you will probably notice Microsoft does it alot for Call of Duty.

LOL. Madden ads also feature Sony PS3 logos and slogans because Sony paid EA, I'm sure many EA games do this as well. Call of Duty commercials say "now available on XBOX" because Microsoft paid Activision. There are many examples of this. The only interesting thing is Activision usually advertises for Microsoft. I guess they signed a special one off co-operative marketing because Sony might have seen Goldeneye as a possible "Move" seller. Just a guess.

Another example of why Sony as a company is bleeding so much money. Yes both companies do ads for multiplat games but Sony is wasting money on 14 year old remake that is even a multiplat.

Just so it's said..while I prefer the xbox I do own and play a ps3 so this isn't a xbox fanboy rant or a troll topic. I was just confused as to why it seemed to be claiming exclusivtivity..but I see my answers above. To be honest no I never noticed the Call of duty MS stuff...I guess it's because I have no interest in those types of games where as I loved the Goldeneye N64 game so this peaked my interest.

CoD is Xbox exclusive as far as half my country is concerned. It's just marketed like that by MS and/or Sony.

It works though. The other day a mate of mine asked could he borrow my PS3 for a while since Goldeneye was "only coming out for Playstation"....

Wouldn't be the first time a company advertises a multiplat as an exclusive. Hell, Nintendo tried to advertise "Sonic Riders" as a Gamecube exclusive last gen. Doesn't mean it's not annoying though.

There's really no way to know how the split in the ad cost is determined. Maybe for Madden or Call of Duty Sony/MS pays 50% split. Maybe for a minor game they pay 20% split. Or perhaps they do pay the full 50% but still see it as a way to advertise for Move indirectly, without having to pay for a standalone Move ad? The ad might still be a good value for them comparitively. Who knows, who cares. It's just marketing department nonsense...

Yeah, MS and Sony do that on different games. There have been years I would have thought Madden and CoD were 360 exclusives... if I didn't already know they were heading to every platform under the sun. :P

Microsoft does not have an advertisement deal for ALL of Activision games just "Call of Duty"

Sony also has an ad deal for the Assassins Creed games which is the reason for the free AC1 game, and Sony is an ad partner with EA on pretty much all of their games including Battlefield 3

This confuses casuals into thinking major releases are exclusive to one platform e.g. Call of Duty, Skyrim, etc.

360 does this about 100000 times more than sony does

Neither are trying to claim exclusive.

both companies do that, you'll see a multiplat game and at the end it says "PlayStation", or you get the Xbox 360 logo and chime, it isn't so much an exclusive thing as much as a promotion of that system, maybe Sony and MS give money to put their logo on the end of the commercials

Every company does this...I mean, every CoD commercial I've seen for years always ends in that "available now on the Xbox 360." You know, because some people need reminders that they need a console to actually play the game :P.

exactly. Why do people think they should advertise for other platforms? Its on ps3 Sony is paying for the ad, what's wrong? The exclusives thing really doesn't turn into cash, kids. I know here they are all important but in truth the ps3 and 360 would hurt more to lose cod, a multiplat than any other game. Its called business kids.

What? If they paid for the advertising, why would they not show the company Logo at the end? It isn't as though they said "Exclusively on PS3" for the game, did they? You fail, and you bringing this up in any future arguments would just ruin any reputation you have even more. I would even just delete this thread or ask for it to be deleted...

Mostly game commercials though.
