You claim you love Nintendo, yet you don't even know of one of their greatest titles EVER. Kid Icarus for the NES was possibly one of the best NES titles released. Just because you didn't know of the game until a few days ago, doesn't mean the rest of their loyal fanbase doesn't know of it. Kid Icarus is a huge foundation for Nintendo success with the NES and I can gaurantee you that they will be bringing him back in a full blown title.

I don't know what to think. If what Reggie really said holds true, then the "big" surprise absolutely CAN NOT be Kid Icarus. Yeah, it would be a surprise alright, but it wouldn't excite every gamer. So, it can't be that. Then again, Reggie could have been building BS hype by making blanket statements that don't hold true. Ok...if what Reggie said is absolutely true, then it can really only be 3 games...

There were 2 Kid Icarus games...one for NES, and one for Gameboy. The Gameboy version was quickly forgotten about and the NES version is 22 years old. Now let me ask you this. KI is in a postion to easily be reinvented as a hot property. A killer app is something most people would want...but then again Nintendo's definition of something everyone wants could mean anything...I mean Wii Fit was their showpiece last year.

I'm confused, I highly doubt there is any game out there that would get EVERY gamer excited. Also why can't it be more than one game that Nintendo is going to be announcing during E3 to please both the hardcore gamers and the casual gamers? Kid Icarus could very well be announced at E3 along with a new Wii Sports or something like that for the more casual crowd as well as a slew of other games to appease both sides. I love the narrow mindedness of how it has to be one game, not to mention the whole "I haven't heard of it so it has to suck" argument that so many throw out there.

To the TC, you say that the sheep are living in the past and hoping for a game that supposedly sucked 20+ years ago because you haven't heard of it, yet when you look at the Sony fan base holding out for Kill Zone 2 when the first one wasn't anything to brag about. Microsoft fans still cling to Halo when the only true thing it had going for it was its online multiplayer and now they cling to hopes of Golden Eye finding its way onto XBLA in a revamped form with online play. Ok just because the actual IP Kid Icarus is widely unknown and the original game is completely ancient doesnt mean a new game based off it could not excite every gamer. I personaly dont love the IP all that much, its ok but nothing amazing, but thats just based off my experience with the original game which is 22 years old, so I wont count the series out because we dont have the slightest clue as to how a new KI game would look and play or appeal to gamers.

You cant say something wont interest everyone if you dont know anything about it. Everything a person can base this on is a very old game that has not recieved any real upgrade let alone a 3D iteration which completely changes everything about a game. Seeing as Matt C has more or less confirmed Factor 5 is making it and it will appear at E3 it might not be the big game and an internal Nintendo Dev team could have something new and big to show, but I wouldnt count a KI return out completely.

i think that will be very possible. Pokemon is the 2nd best selling gaming franchise. Maybe it could be an MMO but nintendo's online is mediocre though.

Kid Icarus would be a great new Wii title and it will most likely be created but if this "surprise" is supposed to be something well known I doubt it will be a game based on a character that was recently discovered by most Wii owners with the release of SSBB. Perhaps something like Pikmin, Pokemon or Star Fox is coming.
