Sorry Xbox 360, Wii and PS3...you never will reach PS2 success...

After 7 years PS2 is the top selling console.....I think we can all say that the new consoles will never be successful as the PS2...

Console maybe, but that damn DS is going to go down as the greatest straight up thing to play videogames on ever. I don't own one, but how and when will its sales slow down? My guess is never....

Last gen was filled with sequals, WW2 shooters and a few gems. 

Good. Domination in the market is bad for us as gamers, and can be potentially bad for developers.

Anyone who wants the 360, PS3, or Wii to dominate needs a quick slap to the face and a wakeup call.

I would've thought the PSX was the biggest success, but the PS2 has had a long run and is still going.

No. The PS3 is second in japan, the 360 is second in NA.
The reason I laugh at PS3 numbers in NA is because everyone laughs at 360 numbers in Japan. It's balance. They are both doing very well for their time periods, the 360 has managed to sell of hype, and one big IP. No big game from last gen has popped up on the 360 yet. It's in the same boat as the PS3. Wake up.

I can agree that none of the new consoles will ever reach 130,000 million units sold. After for the PS2 being the best console in history, I wouldn't say that. Just because it sold a lot of units and had a lot of games for it doesn't make it the best. At least 75% of the games on the PS2 were crap. I could literally go to best buy and pull 100's of crappy PS2 titles of their shelves and put them in the garbage. Games like GoW2 and Guitar Hero 1 & 2 are few and far between on the PS2.

Actually the way the Wii is selling i highly disagree.

Oh and it may not be a console as such...but the DS is sure to sell more than the ps2 in a few years.

No, the the ps2 will eventually stop selling, like all consoles, just like the gamecube, xbox, and ps1. So if the wii can sell more than the ps2 before the wii stops selling, it can be considered a better selling console, but until then, the ps2 is a better selling console... (The fact that the ps2 sold more than the wii last month makes it apparant that the wii will most likely not eventually outsell the ps2...)

I believe the Wii is at almost 6 million. The PS2 is at over 120 million. Long-long-long-long-long way to go.

There's a company that makes Xbox that wasn't around for 3 years while PS2 took hold. It's around now and it will prevent the Wii from selling any where near what the PS2 sold.  casey7672

Im just gonna say that in the time the PS2 has been out i think ALOT of people have more than 1, i have 3 in my house, 2 broke >_>

ATM people are having a hard time getting even 1 wii, and when the new colours come out.....

You need to WAIT i dunno why everyone insists on being able to predict the future, live in the present :P
