Not even close (unless you've been playing bots or the laggy online mode). If you want button-mashing, stick to Tekken or DoA. SF has more in-depth gameplay, but I find the SC universe more interesting. I can't wait to get my copy of SFIV!Soul Calibur IV is basically a button smasher. Easier to get into and to masterglez13

That is 100% true. It is more viable in some games over others however.[QUOTE="Saturos3091"][QUOTE="glez13"]Not even close (unless you've been playing bots or the laggy online mode). Lucky guy, it seems that you havent played Naruto Clash of Ninja 2, trust me, i've been defeated in that game to people who only mash buttons.
Back to the thread, i love SF and i love SC, and i'm agree with most of you guys, i feel that SF is more depth, and SC is more friendly, out of those, i'll choose SF only for the online mode.
Which fighting game do you prefer? I can't decide which one to get, and they both look good. :Djakehouston88
Street Fighter IV is WAY better, imo. You also get more BANG for your buck.
I love fighting games though, and I have 1000GS on SOUL CALI 4 360, and I also have SC4 for PS3. It is fun, and a great "Noobie" fighter, but SF4 is way better in the end.
They just put so much into it, but I suppose just follow your heart.
SF is the reason there even is a Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur, Tekken, DOA, Smash Bros., and Virtua Fighter, and SF4 has so much nice extras.
The PS3 version ESPECIALLY as you get a friggin' BLU-RAY movie with the Collector's Version, Install option, and DPad greatness (Great for visiting friends), but either way, it's awesome
Capcom just has a stranglehold on me when it comes to 2D fighters. I can't get enough from them. So of course I'm going with SF IV.
Soul Calibur was an Excellent game and II was good. 3 I didn't play much but I didn't like it. Bought IV and returned within a week or 2.
3D fighters I have just Tekken and DoA. Not really a fan of VF and was a huge fan of SC before but it's just gone down hill for me. I still enjoy playing the first. I wish the one on XBL had online play. Hell I'd probably enjoy Soul Edge/Blade more than SC IV.
[QUOTE="goblaa"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Street Fighter IV, no contest whatsoever.s3KtOr
Yep.
SC1- amazing
SC2- good
SC3- uhg...
SC4- ok
All things SF - amazing
QFT
blade / are nice two but ya the game became an unbalance mess in sc3I still havent got SFIV (waiting for my copy to arrive)... however SCIV is a great game... but am sure i'll be enjoying SFIV more... Its the type of game that makes you believe its easy to get into, but then you realise that in order to truly master the game you need to dedicate lots of hours per character..
So far though my fav fighting game this gen is definately VF5... again its tough to master but so rewarding :)
I prefer Street Fighter 4. IMO SF has way better online, the fighting system is great (most of the time you can't get away with button mashing unlike SC4). Soul Calibur 4 is still a great game though it is easy for beginners it offers a lot of replay value (68 hrs clocked in), creating a character is sweet.
EDIT: I prefer Street Fighter IV over Soul Calibur IV any day.

As somebody who isn't big on competitive online play, I felt I got much more bang for my buck with Soul Calibur IV. It's arguable that the game is a little imbalanced and that characters such as Kilik and Ivy are overpowered. But it is also great fun, very addictive and the character creation mode is a guilty pleasure.
In all seriousness though, if you want an outstanding fighting game, get VF5. It makes both of those games feel oldhat.
