Uhhhh... it doesn't matter?
Although I assume it might hit the battery life a bit.

EDIT: It's an LED, so even that's not an issue.

These light does not take much power, insignificant. Luckily for gamer, ps4 does not use AA battery for controller. MS have adopt modern battery technology, I expect.

The speaker isn't always on, the touchpad isn't always on, Sixaxis isn't always on, the light is an LED, meaning it can last 89 years on one charge of the PS4 controller battery (meaning it's not draining the battery significantly at all). What are you complaining about again?

I doubt the battery life will be affected much but even if it was I am really glad they still don't have to use batteries for the controller. I remember playing on my roomates Xbox and the controller died and then he showed me where his stash of a bunch of batteries were. I haven't bought a battery since CD players were still new.

And how often will a game be supporting the touchpad, in conjunction with the speaker and Sixaxis? It'll be one or the other at a given time. And hey, you can recharge the Dualshock 4, while it's in standby, and while you're playing, same as DualShock 3. Why is battery life even an issue here?

There's a video that shows it reflecting, but it's off a black portion of screen and the player is sitting much higher than his TV. Nearly anything will reflect off a black screen, so it's really more of an issue of if it reflect off a typical portion of game play -- which nobody seems to have video of yet. Sony's unwillingness to turn off the light suggests that's not really going to be an issue (unless your game is constantly pitch black), but we'll have to see. Worst case scenario...electrical tape over the blue sensor. Still, hard to imagine nobody thought about this.

They did remove the camera to bring the price down, but it has been reported the decision was made pre-E3 before they knew about the Xbone pricing. So either they got an insider leak and decided to undercut them, or market research showed the camera was not really a selling point of their system and decided to shuttle it in favor of a cheaper price. I'd probably put my money on they saw Kinect 2 and said "well, we're not really competing with that and with Kinect bundled with their system, we can just undercut them."

I think I might be being thick here but won't Sony Flip flopping mean that they announced it come with the Eye and then changed there minds. Sort of life the DRM stuff on the Xbone?
