Looks like it could be a pretty good cover shooter, seems like that Spike VGA trailer wasn't actually pre rendered, still looks a little better than the new gameplay though, perhaps a target render. I imagine a lot of people will moan that it's another apocalyptic wasteland, but at least it's a little different in the idea of the sandstorms rather than just a nuke.

I think they've presented enough aspects of the game which differentiate it from what it's inspired by for them to get away with making what, at its core, is another coverbased shooter. That was a pretty awkward sentence, hopefully it made sense.

It's evident that the setting is something they have given a lot of thought to. And you know, it works. It gives the game a distinctive look and allows for the verticality and environmental hazards they're playing around with.

That and the focus on narrative and morality is what makes this game intriguing to me. And while the core gameplay seems derivative, if it plays great then that's mostly forgiven.

The sand element looks very interesting in both campaign and it could make the multiplayer.

looks horrible IMO. gameplay seems simplistic and unoriginal, and the graphics do not do well with that kind of atmosphere.

This is one of the few new IP's coming out this year that I'm greatly interested in.

ReaperV7

The gameplay could hardly be thought of as simplistic. It incorporates all the normal elements which you'd expect from a coverbased shooter, with the addition of squad mechanics. And though I guess it doesn't really make things that much more complex, there'll be environmental interactivity like shooting out glass to crush your enemies with a ton of sand, as well as snap moral decisions which if nothing else will enrich the experience.

What's wrong with the graphics? I think it looks pretty damn impressive, and the setting plus scenario gives it its own identity. The only problem would be the framerate, but that's excused by the game being at least 10 months away.

And you're completely ignoring what they're going for with the narrative. Here's Greg Kasavin and friends explaining why you shouldn't.

Also, Nolan North is in it.

IMO looks REALLY cool, with REALLY graphics. And if it has decent multiplayer than YAY. Those animations are top notch and it looks like the story is going somewhere. Hopefully its not a Dark Void in the making. But I also saw a lot of destructible environments which makes me smile. =D

People appear too quick to disregard this game as just another shooter. Boiling it down to its core, Uncharted 2 is just Uncharted again, which was once nicknamed Dude Raider. Iteration and evolution can be just as important a factor as innovation. Not that I expect this to end up on Uncharted 2's level, just an example. Since Yager have compared themselves to Rocksteady, did anyone here play Yager? With Rocksteady's first game (Urban Chaos) you could kind of tell that these people knew what they were doing.
