It's probably using many of same assets used in last game, but it's in a new setting. I think it was a smart move as far as capitalizing on success of Spider-Verse movie, but I would have liked to have seen them try harder to capture the film's visual design. Still, Insomniac must have expanded quite a bit to be juggling that with their upcoming Ratchet and Clank game.

That makes way more sense. So it's something like Infamous: First Light.

You don't rebuy the original. It's a standalone expansion. So think of Infamous First light or Uncharted lost legacy.

It's likely a smaller spin-off because they want to launch it with the console.

Sucks to be you because I enjoy open-world games and if you don't know how to play'em, you aren't going to like any open-world games. And Spider-Man PS4 was among the best superhero game I enjoy in a very long time that was made by AAA developer who knows what they are doing.

Miles is half black/Hispanic. This has got to be the dumbest thing I ever seen and its clearly shows the media has never read Spider-Man comics to know Miles is mix.

Not surprised at all. The development time would have been way too short for it to be a brand new game and the fact that it's using assets from the first game, but won't be on PS4, just shows that SONY does not have any launch titles and decided to dress an expansion as a proper game to pretend that they have games and thus a reason for the new hardware this year.

MS is going the right way by not even pretending that the XSX is a must have on day 1.

Seems more like a spin-off (looking at you Metal Gear Rising) then an actual sequel, but I am still excited for it. I was going to wait to get a new console but if this is a PS5 exclusive, I might try to get the console at launch or around January 2021 when everything dies down. I really love Spider-Man PS4 and I'm a Marvel fanboy, so my Spidey fever is off the charts lol.

Schreier says it's "similar in scope to Uncharted Lost Legacy", so probably nowhere near the length of Spider-Man but not short enough to just be released as another DLC.

They pulled a Arkham Origins and gave the city a Christmas setting I like that. But from a graphically stand point I don't see why this is a PS5 exclusive it looks exactly the same as the PS4 version from what we've seen so far.

the best games shown at sony are all multiplats. Hitman 3, Deathloop and RE8.

I suspected as much considering the game was announced as Spiderman: Miles Morales instead of Spiderman 2.

I was under the assumption they were essentially copy-pasting the entire setting, hence the need for "it's an expansion".

Remember the grief Far Cry 4 got for copying the game world from Primal? Same thing.

The fact that it's only available on ps5 when it could have been made available for the 100m ps4 owners tells you a lot about Sonys policy in supporting consoles.

We told you cows, when you pretended to be outraged over Phil Spencer's comments a few months ago, when he said the first wave of games will be cross gen. Granted, phil spencer's sin was in verbalizing that out loud, we told you Cows that Sony was either going to do the same, or that they would arbitrarily gate off games that could very clearly run on current gen hardware, just to call them exclusives.

These consoles (neither of them) just arent that much more powerful than their last gen counter parts. The gap isnt big enough, full stop. This idea that the entire core foundational structures of games is going to see a paradigm shift this gen is silly. Like Uncharted 5 is suddenly going to become Star Citizen.

Its also puzzling why Cows seemed to have been expecting these wall to wall bangers out the gate for PS5, considering basically all of Sony's studios are accounted for. Either just wrapping big projects, or just starting big projects. We basically know what almost all of Sony's big studios are doing, within deductive reason.

It's a standalone game, not an expansion. This has already been confirmed.
