Personally I think that the actual awards are a mess but they reveal some really awesome games. I would say that a Halo 4 trailer is a given seeing as we have been in the dark about that game since E3 and Reach got a trailer at the 09 awards. Sony may have an ace up there sleeve aswell (God of War 4 ??)

The reveals themselves tend to be nothing but c.g. so excitement is tame for me.

I have mixed feelings about the VGA's.

On the one hand, they've recently been pretty fair and on the dot with their winners, use a panel of judges from gaming media to judge the games, bring gaming and the people who make games at the forefront of modern media and the VGA's are also pretty much the second best place for game reveals outside of E3.

On the other hand, it was pretty terrible the first few years (with clueless celebrities mispronouncing game names), and tends to be a bunch of fluff involving hokey comedy bits from celebrities who may or may not have anything to do with gaming. Having Jersey Shore on was a big low point for the show and those guys are really the opposite of what a gaming oriented crowd might be interested in.

The VGA is a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously..sadly alot of developers use it announce stuff so i have to watch it lawlessx

Yeah the trailers are badass but you don't have to watch the VGA's. Gamespot usually has the trailers up like straight after there announced. I won't get to see the trailers untill the next day though because there not on until like 1:00am here lol.

First big announcement: Spike is renaming the VGAs to the Spike Call of Duty Awards.

Sometimes I agree with VGA's , and most I facepalm to.

With GOTY's, they've been spot on.(San Andreas, UC2, RDR) But with the actual awards , I wonder "What are they thinking?"

the VGAs are a joke and I just can't take them seriously. Plus it's too mainstream and COD is nominated for every award every year, even best RPG.

Pretty much the only reason I watch them. That and Samuel Jackson, but they don't have him anymore...

I think we all universally agree it's a terrible waste of time except for the announcements that come from it.

This will essentially be the last platform from which publishers (including the first-parties) will be announcing titles for 2012.

I wonder if their "premieres" are actually new games and not just trailers for already announced games.

Amen. Watching Skyrim's reveal last year was too sick. VGA's is awesome.

I love the VGA trailers, Batman Arkham city was amazing.

I think last years show was, or at least seemed better in what they chose, I think they changed a lot to make the actual awards more relevant. Unfortunately the jokes and the random celeb cameos were all still dumb.

I don't watch it.
