Metal Gear Solid > Splinter Cell. Splinter Cell does look better than MGS, but MGS has the better story and is much funner. majadamus
funner isn't a word last time i checked

As a pure stealth game Splinter Cell has always had MGS beat IMO. I don't think either of them are "stealth shooters" though... Puckhog04As I see it the only argument is which is more of a stealth game but MGS is a better game.
The MGS boss battles alone destroy Splinter Cell (which is a pretty cool series).MGS boss fight kick ass.

Uh, ok. In your opinion, sure, MGS is the better game. I've been playing MGS since the NES Metal Gear games and I love Splinter Cell.
Like i said, as a pure stealth game (stealth mechanics), Splinter Cell has it beaten hands down IMO. You have issues with that?
[QUOTE="ImagineGamer"][QUOTE="---"]MGS is too average. And Splinter cell beats it anyways.majadamus

Ya, funner isn't word, I'll admit. Neither is "fix'd". If you're gonna be a grammar nazi make sure you're good at it by playing by the rules.you're right. fix'd isn't a word, but ppl use that on teh internet. the ' replaces the "e"
like killed-kill'd

It seems I have an issue with the bad animation and surreal moves on SC. And the fact you enjoyed a port of the 1st MG on SNES means how baddass MG is.[QUOTE="majadamus"][QUOTE="ImagineGamer"][QUOTE="---"]MGS is too average. And Splinter cell beats it anyways.ImagineGamer

His question was essentially which is the better "Stealth Shooter"? Which isn't really a genre...in fact, it's a contradiction. I didn't find anything wrong with the animation on any of the SC games. Yeah, there are surreal moves on SC. But you don't think that taking on a fully armed mech on foot is surreal? Both have surreal aspects...they are, afterall, videogames. As a pure stealth game, Splinter Cell wins IMO. If you're looking for a deep story to the game but with less advanced stealth gameplay then i believe MGS is the series for you. That's essentially my thoughts on the two games.
Splinter Cell destroys MGS in quality of controls, realism, gameplay, story. MGS is like a bad anime. None of it makes a lick of sense. Let's not forget SC also has an awesome multiplayer mode. PS: they haven't shut that server down yet. ;)JiveT*hands you a flameshield & jumps out of the way*
MGS has something Splinter Cell doesn't have

Well first I didn't say MGS isn't surreal, on the contrary, but so much for sc being realistic when he can stay up on 2 walls and doesn't even crawl.I've played all Metal Gear games...not just Metal Gear Solid.

The one that was specifically for Europe and Japan? Yea, briefly. I don't recall ever beating the game to be honest but i did play it briefly. It's tough to remember most of the details.
