So ive been browsing the forums, and ive became aware that not everyone knows about spore, and how awesome a game it is, so i thought id make a hype thread as well as inform tem what type of game it is.

Spore is the ultimate evolution game, set for a september release, watch this, to understand just how amazing this game is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8dvMDFOFnA

^^^ watch all of that, then hype it:

my hyping: mid-high AAA with endless replay value

what do you think?

Spore will be a fad like bellbottom jeans. It will be fun for awhile then quickly everyone will forget about it.

NO!

I'm telling you people. IF you don't hype games, you will have a better result (i should say experience)when you actually play the games.

This goes for looking for info too. It takes some of the greatness (that you would have) away.

But whatever. Your lives.

Not much replay value? I don't quite understand that....it's a sandbox game, so it's got HUGE replay value by definition.

AAA - when and if it ever comes out. If the game mechanics work this could be a revolution in its genre.

i think the game looks incredibly boring once you reach the rts portion of the game. which is like, the huge majority of it.

the intiail stages where you evolve from a ameaba to a land animal and mate etc looks like one of the greatest things i've ever seen.

the part where you grow a civilization and take over the world looks like cookie cutter, elementary rts gameplay. boring as hell. Also, the portion of the game where you go into outter space looks super boring. the planets are unhabited. There is no motivation to explore the galaxy if the planets are just empty rocks.

The first few portions of the game look amazing, but the large majority of it look mediocre at best imo.

That is because people have not played the game yet. When a bunch of people buy the game, there will be planets filled with lifeforms created by people all over the world.

doesnt sound to fun for new comers. unless all you do is LOOK at another persons world then i guess thats cool. But it would probably get boring fast.

peoples planets are put on, and then the game takes control of them, that doesnt mean if someone destroys your civilisation in their game, in yours it will be gone, but they can interact with it as if the game made it

No they dont come conquer your land, there is a mass server that collects everyone's data then transfers it to your Universe, same as it collects yours and sends it to others universe.  After it is collected it is then taken over by the NPC's.  That means there will be thousands of unique planets all through the galaxy.

ok then that is pretty sweet.  but the middle portion of rts does not appeal to me at all.

I'm not sure the intergalactic advanced nations would be interested in conquering a planet where an amoeba is the most advanced organism.

That new comers would be playing virtually a completely different game from the people who had been playing a long time. They most likely wouldn't interact at all.

It's a "Massively Single-player" game. As in zero interaction between players. The planets ARE populated by other peoples content but they don't control it. I've been waiting this and feeding off information since 2005. AAAA- Perfect Score, IMHO. The Creature creation, the sheer amount of user-defined content all as hard or as easy as you want. I would pay just for the demo of the creature creator. Has everybody seen the Robin Williams video? Search it on Youtube! It's the game I've been wating for since I started gaming. Thank you WW!

Designing and building your own vehicles, weapons, housing, space-ships, environments etc doesn't appeal to you? It's much more than your bog-standard RTS. One amazing bit in the videos is where his creature picked up a weapon for the first time! I cheered and I was watching it alone, lol

I don't hype games, I just babble about how awesome I think they will be without actually predicting a rating. But I'ma make an exception for SPOOOOOORRRRRRREEEE! What you need to do is take a fictional letter. this letter will be assumed to indicated a higher score than the traditional A. I'll call this letter "Zyfan!" It looks like the lambda sigh but with spikes on it. I'm hyping SSSSSSPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEE! to be sextuple Zyfan..... plus infinity.

Yeah. As soon as I heard of the game, I read about it and watched videos. Looks great. Told everyone that gamed (and some that didn't) about it. All intrigued. Here's hoping.

I want this game to be good, its concept has tons of potential, but it's going to be a monumental task to pull it off.  I wish them the best of luck.  It could suck several months out of all our lives, if it lives up to it's concept.

I would pay just for the demo of the creature creator. Has everybody seen the Robin Williams video? Search it on Youtube! It's the game I've been wating for since I started gaming. Thank you WW!

I've seen it and i was amazed for the most part. until they hit the rts stages.

Designing and building your own vehicles, weapons, housing, space-ships, environments etc doesn't appeal to you? It's much more than your bog-standard RTS. One amazing bit in the videos is where his creature picked up a weapon for the first time! I cheered and I was watching it alone, lol

the creation and building sounds great. the accual execution of civilization building and conquering does not appeal to me in the least.

I want this game to be good, its concept has tons of potential, but it's going to be a monumental task to pull it off. I wish them the best of luck. It could suck several months out of all our lives, if it lives up to it's concept.

Fingers crossed it's not another Fable, eh? As I said before I would purely buy this game just for the creature creator. :D

Hopefully there will be an option to take a peaceful route (some of the videos show this) and just explore and expand throughout the galaxy.

ok then that is pretty sweet. but the middle portion of rts does not appeal to me at all.
shadow_lord_11
why do you think that's the biggest part of the game? it's not. the game is just like a tutorial for the part you'll spend the most time in. the space part where you'll go to other places and abduct other species and experiment on them as well as possibly influence other civilizations. it's the ultimate God game. heck you could probably make a war world were you evolved 2 aggressive species that will fight eachother for your entertainment. or maybe abduct species that others have downloaded and see how they interact.

Understandable. If you're a RTS fan (PC) you've been making your own content for years and by the videos the RTS element does seem dumbed down. I'm not trying to sway your opinion :P lol. I just get excited whenever somebody mentions Spore :D

Not after the atrocity that games like Black and White and the Sims were... Doesn't matter who makes them, they are too grand for their own good and in my opinion, pretentious and boring.

The Sims and Black and White both got AAA here, with either a 9 or 10 in value. How's that for boring?
