the Wii version has been confirmed to be completly different from the PC version...just like all of the other Maxis games....which turned out far far worse on consoles than on the PC.....
so the chance of Spore being better on the Wii...is well slim to none considering its going to be completly different.
Not to mention the lack of a hard drive on the Wii puts a serious damper on the ability to take advantage of user generated creatures, buildings, and content. I fail to see how could the Wii version be anywhere near close to the PC since it will obviously be inferior graphically, but also inferior feature wise.
Has a date even been announced for the Wii version?
Which version do you think will end up being the best? The PC version will be the better version. I don't see the wii version having a lot of the online stuff the PC version will have. The friends codes are going to be a pain for wii owners. Poor guys. I feel for them because of the way their online is setup.
Personally I think there is a chance that they could be pretty much equal, except for in the visual department, but only if you are able to do all the online stuff on the Wii as well. If the online isn't as good on the Wii as it is on the PC, and chances are it wont be, then the PC version will be far superior.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about the space issue, however, I really don't think the game is graphically intensive at all. It should run just fine on the Wii.
BTW is this game about evolution still or dumbed down to just creating creatures? If it's the latter, I'm honestly a no buy.

Good to know it's till about evolution then. :)
I also didn't know the Wii game was different.
The lack of a HDD is a bit of problem. Though if they're smart, they could always give the game SD card support. Not to mention the lack of a hard drive on the Wii puts a serious damper on the ability to take advantage of user generated creatures, buildings, and content. Why would the hard drive be a limitation? Spore is based on procedural synthesis. All that would theoretically be necessary would be a small file (in the kilobytes size) with the numbers that would correspond to each creature's anatomy and planet. The game engine on the game disc itself would then rebuild the creatures and planets from those mathematical seeds.
It's the same reason save files are so tiny.
