Looking impressive tbh.
At this point when i am seeing a game dev hiring a ton of hollywood actors, i know they have their priorities all f'ed up, and i shouldn't be paying attention to the game. Lets waste massive budgets to have Gary Oldman face and voice in the game, and he isn't even playing a quality character like in Leon The Professional🤷♂️Cringe.
I gotta admit, that was freaking awesome trailer coming from Squadron 42. No release date was to be expected so nothing new on that. The gunplay needs more tuning work and I'll be impressed if SQ42 will be the next big Crysis game moment.
Other than that, there's really not much to go on.
I've kept my hopes high but my expectations low for a long time, this is the first time in a few years however that I've felt a little hyped for this game.
A pretty exciting moment. This game will revolutionize the industry when it's out and set a new standard from a technical standpoint.
It still blows my mind that a space sim from a new franchise and an independent developer--not something from a AAA publisher like EA or Ubisoft or Nintendo--is going to be the thing that pushes us forward. Game development has been stagnant for quite some time in the AAA space from both a technical and gameplay stance, it's nice to see this game setting future trends on what we can expect (and even demand) from games.
OK, now bring on the haters. But c'mon you can do better than Scam Citizen, you need new material.

Yeah, I am pretty excited.
Still not expecting anything any time soon, but the fact that they have officially announced the game is "feature complete" is a big freaking deal.
Development--that is, the actual building of the game--is more or less finished with SQ42; all that's left is play testing and quality control. Granted that's a lot of work, but it means we are at the beginning of the end.
Then all focus will go into Star Citizen [persistent universe] and I imagine we will see a lot more progress in that area, assuming they don't lay off the team that worked on SQ42.
Time to hop in the 'verse, btw. I got some minerals I refined that need transport to sale and maybe some pirates to shoot down!
@mrbojangles25: No doubt SQ42 development stuff is (somewhat) almost over. The way Chris Roberts was teasing a release date, it's almost as if he's aiming for 2025 which was the word on the street is predicting. It sure has been a decade in the making, and now we will cash in our chips very soon👌
@me2002: You think this is releasing this gen 🤣🤣🤣
We don't really have "gens" on PC.
Just one long reign of greatness over the inferior console peasants.
@mrbojangles25: PC doesn't have much of anything other than cheaters, pirates, beggars for console games, and scam citizen.
Imagine putting up $600 million dollars and all Mr Roberts has produced in 10yrs is his $4.7 million dollar mansion, there's a PC sucker born everyday.
I guess they are still holding the line. ;)
But yeah, it is looking really good. Hopefully they can get it polished and work on that optimization as the frame rate was not looking too hot in many scenes. Hopefully we don't have to wait too much longer for them to finish all that...
I'm just happy we get another cryengine game for once. Also lol that gif.

Yeah, that gif is awesome. Also, gotta love that ultrawide presentation for the video. :)

Only if it was also true for Xbox then you might still have Xbox exclusives and won't be so bitter. Also not our fault that girls don't like to breed with lems.
Still its not coming anytime soon. but looking good. will be surprise if it release next year.
Your rx580 won't be able to handle 1 frame of this game.
Now that i've actually watched it, techically and artistically it looks real sweet. And the whole time i was watching it, i was comparing animations, ship battles, gunplay, gun design, etc to Starfield😆Holy shit Starfield is behind, like over 20 years behind wtf.

Yeah, you don't have to like how they've "scammed" people (allegedly lol), you don't have to like space sims, you don't have to like anything about it....but the game is damn technically impressive, and no one can deny that.
Also running and looking better in alpha builds than many AAA games are these days. Just saying...
@hardwenzen: Ironic, since Star Citizen was announced 20 years ago :P
Changing engines midway will do that haha.

10yrs, $600+ million dollars, still taking money from hermits, they still can't release a game and you hermits defend it 🤦♂️
I see you're still bitter about you been outed as a pirate 😭
As for the last part, well Heath Slater said it best
You lose again. You really should stop posting when you're emotional as you keep making yourself look foolish.

Damn! Then it's even worse for you that you let a 'pirate' get under your skin. Tsk tsk tsk. No one is emotional apart from you here bud and emojis won't hide it. Ewww...and the pic you posted is creepy.

Starfield is actually playable, start to finish.
This joke is gonna land so hard when you are still waiting for SQ42/Star Citizen in 2043

YOU replied to one of my posts, so i'm the one under your skin even when i'm not even trying to be. You're also the one who said...not our faults that girl don't want to breed with lems, now that's creepy af, not a pic of a wrestler wearing an i've got kids shirt.
This is the second time in about a week that you've directly replied to one of my posts flinging childish insults, that proves you're the one that's emotional in here and sensitive when someone calls PC crap, those are the facts.

Don't really care, never paid attention to star citizen or sq42. One thing for sure, tho, Bethesda hasn't even done 1% of what their game could've been. Like really, comparing the two games makes Starfield look downright pathetic.

It definitely looks amazing. but once it release I will realize its real game.

What is Starfield missing that you feel was in Skyrim or Oblivion?

Sense of exploration, which is directly destroying the immersion as well, and this was always the two most important apects of their games (for me). This 1000+ planets gimmick is such a bad idea when they're still using their engine from 1977. One landmass is how it should always be unless your engine allows seamlessness.

Couldn't agree more man, everytime when a game announces this impossibly huge universe (No Man's sky, Mass Effect Andromeda) I always sigh and shrug as there is no way they can make procedural content feel good.
Having said that, there is a lot to like about Starfield, the gunplay is such a huge step up for Bethesda. This is the best the combat in a bethesda game has ever been. And going on these planets with different atmospheres and different weather conditions is truly a sight to behold.
I've been on moons where I jumped 20m over my enemies and I've been to distant planets where I froze to death in seconds. It's been a lovely experience. A flawed game, but we are idiots if we don't expect games to be flawed. They simply are.

Yes, the gunplay was a stepup, but when its a stepup from literally one of the worst gunplay (especially pre Fallout 4) in any AA or AAA titles, it isn't saying much. Secondly, something that has surprised me, is the lack of gun variety. I thought there's gonna be a ton of guns, but that's not the case, and pretty much the same issue applies to suits, there's barely any choice of suits. Exploring space and have no alien weaponry (and i would've wanted something serious, not the toy looking alien blaster from the fallout series) is a god damn crime.
I could accept and deal with constant loading screens, BUT when all your exploration evolves around finding the same looking weapons and armor, shit's ruined, and makes the whole thing pointless. For such a large game, they should've had at least 100 different weapons and 50+ suits. I don't know if this is laziness or Bethesda became this clueless, and just decided to not have anything worth exploring for. I mean holy shit, you land on a planet, scan, spot a marker, and b-line. When you get to the destination, you scan or collect rocks. How is this OK? THis is the most repetitive exploration of any of their games. Following markers in a straight line while being extremely slow cuz no vehicles is a pathetic way of creating a sense of exploration in your video game.
The only hope fro Starfield is mods, but i hear they haven't even released the tools, and you gotta wait another 5 months before they're out? Bethesda has fallen so hard.

You gotta see tools as a larger set of instruments. Probably allowing people to build entirely new planets.
Right now the game is built on creation so it's already super moddable. In fact this game has as many mods as Skyrim had at this point of its lifetime.
I modded out the hit feedback hud elements and the awful color grading day one, the game has been a lot better ever since. The final mods I applied were texture mods but I'm keeping my game pretty vanilla atm. Just texture mods for environments and key characters.
And yeah I agree on the weapon part. I have 6 weapons equipped and they haven't really changed much in the past 20 or so hours. Just swapped out one weapon here and there. But a RPG does mean you'll grind the same weapon a lot and upgrade it through perks.
And yeah, I also really miss those alien superpowers that were promised. This game could've been Dishonored in space, comon, what a missed opportunity.
But I'm fine with this being a 7 (or 8) out of ten game. And I'm fine with Forza being a 7 out of ten game. Because I'm enjoying both games, and that's all that matters. Games should be enjoyable.
Gotta say, as a hater for Star Citizen since the very beginning, this engine demo they've shown is the most impressive gaming related thing i've seen. Don't tell me they're getting me with their god damn vaporware😭😭😭

This is an open forum bud. You're not posting private messages here. I'm not the one scraping the internet to look for something to complain about PC because Xbox share my precious exclooosives with PC. Come join us to the dark side bro where we will be waiting for SQ42 until our grandchildren's retirements. More so now that both Jim Ryan and Bethesda has abandoned you.

Take a deep breath before you post because you just come across as bitter towards me.
Giving them benefit of doubt building engine, economy and feature does take a long ass time but I wonder do they really need to build all the gameplay features before 1.0 release?
Lots of MMO released in a smaller scale and get feature/gameplay updates updates down the line. Tho I kinda understood as some MMO came and crash due to playerbase leaving so maybe this strategy works. Keep em funding going.
