Square Enix: FF15 wont be shown at E3

Square Enix have come out and confirmed that they will not show any new footage about Final Fantasy 15 this coming E3 this month ( they were ready to release a trailer this E3 but the Western division of SE refused to do so due to how the plan was to show old footage in the trailer).

instead Square Enix will show all new footage and more details about the game at Gamescom

During the lastest Active Time Report Broadcast, Final Fantasy XV Dirctor Hajime Tabata explained that the previously mentioned trailer being prepared for E3 won’t appear at all.

The reason is that the team was thinking of using a mix of old footage, but the western arm of Square Enix completely refused the idea. That’s why the trailer has been scrapped.

On the other hand, completely new footage will be showcased at Gamescom.

Not overly excited for it anyway, so .. eh.

Sigh Square also confirmed that Stella is no longer in the game -_- and that they made few changes to the story so its not the Versus we've seen years back anymore just a different game.

Hmm.. Wonder how this will turn out. Can't be that bad. Luna and Stella look same-y, too, so it's not that big of a deal.

Gamescom isn't that far after E3 so I'm fine with that.

Luna reminds me of FF13, so i guess it makes sense that they put her in, Stella had too much of that FF8 vibe i guess.

To be honest I thought the blonde chick in the demo cutscene was stella still lol just updated. Also wasint the game suppose to be something like romeo and juliet. With stella gone is that gone as well or will luna will still fit that role somehow?

I'm beginning to think episode duscae is going to be what we'll be seeing from FFXV for the next few years at least then they'll release a new demo and say 'hey we've done 80 per cent now'. Clowns.

I guess they really changed a lot of FF XV since FF vs 13. Still not really interested in this game for now.

that's pretty much been the state of things for years now, nothing new

anyhow, people were excited for this game back when there was nothing of substance to be excited about, nothing except knowing it would have (at the time) been a Sony PS3 exclusive, now that's not the case anymore and nobody could care less, probably equal parts continual delay as well as not being exclusive anymore

I think the original idea for Versus was like Romeo & Juliet, but by the time it became FFXV, it became less like R&J and much more like Hamlet. With Stella gone, it looks like they've probably abandoned the R&J idea and might be going in the Hamlet direction.

New Hitman please. PLEASE!

Yawn. This game isn't even on my radar. Square Enix needs to get some fresh IPS with new ideas.

I'd be infinitely more excited about a FF VI, FF VII, FF VIII or FF9 remaster than I would a new game in the series.

No pc version has been announced so I don't care. Not about to buy a console for a game in a series that for the last 3 installments besides a realm reborn were complete garbage. And their pc ports have been worse then emulated versions of the same games, so ya all that added into the fact I've given up on square enix as a game developer, since they've proven time and again they\ve forgotten why I as a westerner loved their games in the first place. I'll leave a hint. It\s not crazy anime hair, designer clothing, or horrible horrible voice acting and writing.

@SexyJazzCat: Not in the sense of it being a MMO and the others a single player RPG experience like most final fantasy games. Don't forget though that A realm reaborn is a reborn realm only due to the fact that when the MMO originally released it was considered a complete and utter failure in both design and execution. So even if it's a hell of a polished game, it came forth only because they failed at it so whole heartily to begin with, that they felt the need to can the game and redo it to fix their glaring failure.

No Zelda? No Final Fantasy? I can already take or leave this E3.

Same,a new FF use to be a big deal but after the delays with XII and the abomination of the FFXIII trilogy it's hard to even remember getting excited for the Final Fantasy series...XV does look interesting in spots and it will probably be pretty good but judging the state of the demo leaves me to think this is going to be a holiday '16 release

But the fact that Square Enix had the guts to get rid of the original lead developer for FFXIV and replace him with Yoshi P, then develop an entirely new game from scratch to make it up to fans is very commendable. Most other MMO developers would just keep the game as-is, maybe patch it a little bit, and then go F2P in a few months. With FFXIV they rebuilt that shit in like two years.

I just hope they show Kingdom Hearts 3.

@princeofshapeir: Did a great job too out of all the MMO's I've played in the last few years it's the most polished and stands up to Guild wars 2 in overall quality . But it's literally the only gem in the bushes of horrible horrible ports, remasters, and the despicably bad trilogy that is the lightning series. One good game, out of the entirety of the longest generation of consoles ever, and even longer since I've been waiting since 12 and the next generation is years into it's stride.

There's gotta be more than Deus Ex and Kingdom Hearts 3, but what could it be?

If they're not showing the game that's further in development, what hope is there for KH3? I'd say KH3 will be shown at TGS at the earliest.

Did you forget SE owns Western studios? They have Tomb Raider and Deus Ex.

Sure. But they DID turn it around completely. Doesn't that say something for both their ability and their commitment to their customers?

As for the news, I don't care at all. I don't want to see another damn thing about the game until they are announcing a release date.

It sounds to me that this game won't make 2015. I wonder what the total budget for this game has been over all these years.

FFXV might very well end up being Square Enix's most expensive game ever made. And considering how Tomb Raider cost them about $100 million, I could imagine FFXV costing them around $100-200 million.

They aren't apparently. God knows why they're even having a presentation if they don't show the only games people give a rip about. I hope RotTR and Deus Ex are fair game.

Sadly, you're probably right. Looks like the only presentations I'll be watching are Nintendo's and Sony's.
