Square Enix Plans to Release Classic PSOne Games Through PSN

Square-Enix will be releasing 12 classic PSOne games from the company's game library and make themk available for download via the PlayStation Store for the PSP and PS3. While they have only releases six games at present - and only in Japan at that- they plan on releasing the rest soon as well as making then available to other regions.

No word on when these games will be released in Europe or North American, or if we will get different titles than Japan or not, but as soon as we find out more we will let you know.

The titles currently available in Japan are:

• 1. Xenogears (YEEEESSSSS)
• 2. Einhander(YESS)
• 3. Astronoka
• 4. Rakugaki Showtime
• 5. Raystorm
• 6. Fighters Impact

Great, not that I care for any of those games, but it's good to see the PS Classics beef up finally.

They need more PS Classics man. Where the freak is Metal Gear Solid?

And the possibility of playing Xenogears on my PSP... that would be awesome.

If they release the FF titles, then it would be amazing although I would not buy them since I have hard copies.

But for the titles like Xenogears and Chrono Cross and Vagrant Story, Square titles I missed out on back in the day, I can't wait. Speaking of which I should check out the PSN store to see if there is anything worth buying...

EDIT: I hope they release Chrono trigger and Chrono cross, seeing as they weren't released in Europe.

Maybe they didn't put Final Fantasy VII on there because they are remaking it. :oDeathScape666

I think that if they are remaking it, we'll hear about it this year at E3, TGS or the SE event. We the gaming community will only hear that its coming while attendees will see behind closed doors how it looks.

And no news whatsoever of a possible U.S or EU release
