Square Enix: Please wait a little longer for Versus XIII

During the special 25th anniversary event in Japan today Square Enix chief Yoichi Wada mentioned that they want the fans to wait just a little while for FF Versus XIII saying: I cannot say any more than, We are making Versus! Please wait a little longer, Wada-san stated.

Tomorrow is the official starting date for the FF event, we may hear something shows up regarding FFXIII-3

Most interesting is some art work on Versus hero Noctis, which appears as part of a 25th anniversary booklet (via Kotaku).

The translation for the text reads, Please wait for his turn!

My interest for FF Agnes and FF15 has destroyed the little interest i had in FF13vs

I never liked the new art and style of FF13 and hated it in FF13vs as much, but had some hope it would be a passable game

Now after seeing Agnes, with the new amazing art that is not crappy like in FF13-FF13vs, i cant wait for it and have written off FF13bs complelty

Wait for what, exactly? This game is never going to meet the expectations of fans or even gamers in general after such a long and drawn out development.

The drop off in quality of the Final Fantasy franchise this gen doesn't help sooth concerns either.

Get rid of all the people who are making this franchise stale and get some new talent in. FFXIII was so boring, and yet they bring out a spin off with characters no one gives a sh*t about...

The Kingdom Hearts team is working on Versus 13 HOWEVER, Square-Enix keeps pulling them off Final Fantasy Versus XIII to help pump out these Final Fantasy XIII games. That's what slowed down the development on Final Fantasy Versus XIII in the first place, they had to help get Final Fantasy XIII out.

Versus doesn't exist yet. It wont exist until Final Fantasy XIII-3 is finished and maybe then they'll actually start working on it whenever they get the chance, you know, in their free time.

They could just stop making mediocre sequels for the massively underwhelming Final Fantasy XIII and just, you know, make games that have the potentional to be decent.

Square really should stop announcing things before they've actually started working on them.

As much as I will defend Square against fanboys raging against FFXIII, XII and the amount of KH side stories, stuff like that... Versus XIII is one title I won't defend.

It sounds pretty worrisome that after all these years, instead of talking or showing off the game, all he can do is to state that he cannot say any more. Why the hell not?

It doesnt really bother me though, I was never really hyped for it and what little care I had for it evaporated almost 4 years ago.

I hope it does turn out great. That would be a nice surprise, but I'm not holding my breath.

I do really hope it turns out great given the time and resources put into it. And maybe it will.

But every game I can think of that had a killer long production cycle ends up coming up short. Most of the best games are completed in 2 to 3 years. These games that go long over that usually show signs of issues in development.

Hopefully that doesn't end up being the case here.

The great thing about Final Fantasy before was each one was on it's own, now we have a 3rd game coming up from this cess pool.

that and you forgot to mention they have to keep milking Kingdom Heart fans with spin-offs.

I've never went from completely desiring a games to just not caring anymore before.
