Square Enix president shocked and impressed that Nintendo is dominating Sony

Square-Enix's President Yoichi Wada talked to Nikkei, and in the interview he seems to gush on and on about the Wii. First off, he states that the main platforms that Square-Enix is focusing on are the Wii, DS, and PS3. Much of their capital, as well as infrastructure is set up for both Nintendo platforms.

Square-Enix is also taken aback by the runaway success of the Wii. They originally thought that the Wii and PS3 would live side-by-side, but now they say that the platform's users will determine where Square-Enix goes.So basically, Square-Enix will be following where the money goes.

Lastly, Mr. Wada believes that his team can do a lot more with the Wii than has already been done. He would love to talk with Iwata about his ideas.

lol If it goes to Wii, I'd buy a Wii for it (if I don't have one by that time.) I would just love to see KH3 on the PS3 with the white engine.

But its sad to see SE become so money-hungry. Sure, developers need to make money, but all these remakes and spin-offs of FF and DQ are really starting to annoy me. I'll buy some of them, sure. But even my friend who absolutely loves FF is getting pissed at SE, especially for the FFIV DS remake and what will probably come after that.

- If there is a merrit cooperating with Microsoft we will do this. We might give some projects to separate studios and make games for the X360.

- The Main Platforms for Square Enix are the Nintendo Platforms and PS3. The Lionshare of the Developers and our infrastructure as well as our capital is for NDS, Wii and PS3 and this is not going to change.

- We are astonished by Wiis success and the nintendo dominance. We thought that the PS3 and the Wii will coexist due to the difference between both strategies, but in the end the users will decide which platform we develop on. The SCE Platforms at this point are a bit of a challenge.

- We think we can do much on the Wii. I talked to Iwata to exploit many possibilities and cheer on him

I have never actually played any of their games, but they do look really good, and I'd probably get them if they came out on the Wii, or even the 360.

But it would be sweet irony if the FF series ended up back on a Nintendo console after SE moved the series from Nintendo to Playstation back in the PS1 generation. :P

That is so degrading to MS fans. Square is like we "may" throw them a bone. But then again they may not be worth our time. It not like their games would not sell on the 360. It more like they just don't care about the system.

Square hasn't been good since the Super Nes/Early PSX days so who cares. They killed Final Fantasy after 6, and they killed Chrono Trigger with Chrono Cross. Last game Square did good was Vagrant Story and Xenogears. Whats that 1999?
