Can't really blame them. It is the consumer who is at fault. They brought the industry to this point. This is for all the people that would say "if you don't like it, don't buy it" last gen in regards to dlc and the general direction of publishers milking the consumer. This is the repercussion of those actions.

Only one I'd actually be excited about would be FFXII.

And by this they mean bring all the FF Classics thats already on the PS3 virtual store over to the PS4 virtual store..

Yeah....then too people that didn't get a chance to play those games might like the ability to play them now. Who is to say...it is up to the consumer.

Square Enix doesn't do anything quickly. FF remakes will probably start popping up on the PS4 just before the PS5 releases.

It's hard to believe how incompetent square has become. These guys were once industry titans, their games meant something.

As a business move, it makes sense. Why spend serious money developing something new when consumers will have no problem gobbling up shit they've already played?

Probably just ports. FF 1-6 are on mobile and those would be good candidates, since the resolutions are better than the originals. 8-12 would need porting from the PS1/PS2, but I would not expect graphical enhancements at all

If they bring over FFXII it needs to meet two conditions.

1- It needs the "remaster" treatment FFX got.

2- It must be the "International" version, which made several noteworthy changes to the original release.

FFXII really was a bloody good game, even though it was not appreciated in it's prime very much. I'd also like to see FFVI on PS4, they could port the mobile version, but give us a switch to go between the new HD sprites and the classic graphics. (Pier Solar HD has this) Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing the FFIV 3D character models version either. (Started out on DS, ported to mobile where they also used the same engine to redo the PSP "After Years" expansion of the game)

Their is definitely some potential with this idea. (so long as SE doesn't screw it up, which let's be honest, could very well happen) I think I also wouldn't be alone in lusting after a Dragon Quest VIII HD. That was ported to mobile recently but between the frame rate drops, bad controls typical of mobile, and the severe downgrade in sound quality, it wasn't very enjoyable.

Working on new games while having smaller teams (or even farming out the development) re-do and re-release classic titles people still want to play is the rough game industry equivalent of walking and chewing gum at the same time. Hell, I want MOAR of this… why the hell haven't we gotten a new legit way to play Doom 64?? Loved that game, it's the only Doom game not ported to every electronic device on Earth as of yet. :P

@finalstar2007: Please no more f$#*!@& Final Fantasy remakes. When fans were asking SquareEnix for a remastered FF games, everyone asked for Final Fantasy VII. SquareEnix couldn't even get that shit right. Now they want to remaster every FF game that was on the PS2 and PS3. Get lost SE.
