here i was, thinking when were you showing up to bash it. And why would you hope not? Just cause you dont like it thers millions and millions of people out there that like it. That is pretty much the reason for it to not end.I hope not final fantasy main franchise stopped being good at 7...I.E 6 was good 7 was not and after it just got worse.

[QUOTE="Greyfeld"] FF7, FF8, and FF11 were all playable on the PC. And it's kinda selfish to want a series to end just because it isn't ported to your platform of choice. If you want to play it that badly, buy a playstation.flashn00b
Final Fantasy contributing to the death of PC gaming. If FFVII and VIII were ported properly, and FF9, 10, 12, and 13 had PC versions, i'm pretty sure that more console gamers might start looking at the PC, since FF is one of the world's greatest franchises. Would there be as much people saying that PC gaming is dying?
JRPGs (and RPGs as a whole) may be an established genre, but that doesn't mean that it's full-out mainstream in the gaming industry.
Ok, for everyone calling the Final Fantasy series a rehash, I have to ask how in the world did you jump to that conclusion? The series has evolved over time, and aside from the name and a few common elements(spell names, chocobos, weapons), Final Fantasy XIII is far removed from Final Fantasy I.
I see no issue with the series releasing new games as long as they remain excellent.

As long as they don't do anothe FF X-2 crap, let it last forever, final fantasy is the fondation of my gaming, may as well stop playing if they stop making it

Somehow I doubt that being ported to the PC would make console gamers quit buying playstations and move over to the PC. I don't really want to have a pc vs console debate in the middle of this thread, but my point still stands that if you want to play a series that badly, stop crying and buy the platform it's made for.[QUOTE="da_illest101"]I still don't understand why some people hate X-2 so badly. As long as they don't do anothe FF X-2 crap, let it last forever, final fantasy is the fondation of my gaming, may as well stop playing if they stop making it

The opening sequence was cringe worthy, but I found everything else to be solid. I mean, if playing the role of 3 badass girls is what put people off, they just have personal issues.

I don't know, I thought the opening sequence was pretty fun. I rather liked it, myself. The only real complaint I have with the game is that casting jobs get the short end of the stick, only being limitedly useful. You could breeze through with 2 melee and an alchemist no problem.[QUOTE="MadVybz"][QUOTE="Greyfeld"] I still don't understand why some people hate X-2 so badly.Greyfeld

Although I probably missed out on some good dress sphere combinations, since I was always changing them regardless if my previous combination was good or not.
And people think Call of Duty is a rehash....
Yankees718
since every ff games has a new story and new battle system its like a totally diff game. call of duty isnt.
I think people will get the wrong impression comes Final Fantasy XXXillmatic87
the way societies going i have no doubt in will fit its name.

And what is Enix doing to hurt the Square side of things? As far as I've seen, neither Dragon Quest or Star Ocean have much of an effect on anything that ties into Square. Maybe you can do me a favor and explain how Dragon Quest IX or Enix are responsible for FF XIII going multiplat, Final Fantasy VII not being remade, the refusal to create a new Chrono series game or Kingdom Hearts 3 not being in production yet.
Everyone tends to blame Enix for Square's problems, and yet I've never seen a valid reason of how Enix has hurt Square's product lines.
Yochi Wada was the head of Square Soft, and his position carried over to Square Enix. If you wish to blame something, go blame him, since he's letting both Square and Enix down with idiotic decisions. But stop acting like Enix is somehow responsible for the changes that have happened to Square's franchises. Unless the Dragon Quest or Star Ocean teams are secretly working on Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts, I don't see how Enix should be blamed for anything that goes wrong on the Square side of things.
And keep this in mind, if Square and Enix were separated, Yochi Wada would still be in charge of Square. Most likely, things would probally be the same.

Square is interested in reviving the Chrono series and that's why they released Chrono Trigger for the DS.
KH3 isn't in production because Nomura wanted to do a different take on FFXIII.

Which helps prove my point that Enix is not to blame for the decline at Square Enix. The same man who led Square Soft for years is still in charge, and he has the resources of two of the biggest RPGs developers in Japan at his disposal, which means Square Enix should be providing legendary RPGs that eclipse anything that Square or Enix ever made on the own.. The problem goes beyond Enix and lies more with how his views have changed on developing games.
Somewhere along the line, he got the idea that spamming Final Fantasy VII without bothering with a remake, slapping the Final Fantasy name on virtually everything his company makes, and making most of his titles on handhelds and the 360 while ignoring the PS3 was a good idea.
And this brings me back to the point that I made originally. Why do people blame Enix when the man is charge came from Square Soft? I understand he takes his share of the blame, but I've never seen anyone provide me a vaild reason with how Enix is responsible for hurting Square.

Ok, the point I was trying to make is that most people tend to blame Enix when anything goes wrong at Square Enix. I could understand the arguement if an former Enix employee was in charge, but the argument tend to fall apart when you consider that the same man who headed Square Soft is in charge at Square Enix.
I was using Chrono Trigger and KH3 as examples to illustrate the point that people keep wishing for Enix to go away and somehow, Square will return to its former glory before the merger. Honestly, nothing would likely change even if Square Soft was no longer connected to Enix. Wada would still be the head, and there's no guarantee that he would magically change Square back to their SNES and PS1 days.
People tend to blame Enix and yet, I've never seen a valid reason of how Enix has hurt Square's franchises. And until I see a valid reason, I refuse to buy into the blame game. If people really want to see where the problem is, maybe they should look towards the Square side of things.
After all, the man who led them is still in charge.

We need to stop blaming/worshiping individuals within Square-Enix (and Enix).
The ironic thing about Final Fantasy is that it was planned to be Square's final game they'd ever make.
i dont mind. final fantasy series are my one of my favorite game of all time. specially those from PSX and PS2 days..
This is always the best comment since it's like waving a banner that says "I have no idea what I'm talking about!" Final Fantasy = excellent RPG with polish, great soundtrack and great story. They don't have a running story. And people think Call of Duty is a rehash....

Maybe they should start calling it Forever Fantasy :P I bet it's already been said... nah it's too lame to say it, only I can :D
Oh yay 5 stuff ups in final fanatasy's entire 23 year histroy (not exactly sure though) means we have a crisis on our hands. Seriously the amount of great final fantasy games over the years easily outways the bad and then some. So yeah "by just continue doing what they are doing" would keep the series afloat because what's a few dud games when you have easily 25 + good ones? Also it should only be 3 stuff ups, not like 5 becasue FF11 and FFX-2 weren't bad by any means, not as good as regular FF gamers but still good and not worth counting as bad by any means.actually it's 5 bad games in 7 years seeing as how the oldest game I mentioned was launched in 2003 and yes, X-2 was a god awfull game and so was 11St_muscat
