So I was just about to buy DoW2 on Steam and I glanced at the news on the side and...holy moses...Square Enix on Steam. Upon my clicking of the headline it turns out The Last Remnant will be released on Steam on April 9th.

This got me wondering, will FFXIII and other future SE titles be released via Steam? What does this mean for console fans of SE?

Sorry if this is old I did a search and there was nothing on here.

I wonder if they'll release the PC port of FF VII on the cheap.

I just saw this as well and I hope this means a future FF XIII port too. They should release some old ports as well, I'd definitely like to have a digital copy of FFVII and VIII.

I hope they would, not that I'd get it, but so everyone snob who has the boxed version will shut up about having a super rare game. :P

Although they'll probably still brag about having the retail box.

I played it for PC and it was rather difficult, I had to totally reassign almost every button to play smoothly, hopefully if they put it on they rework some of the flaws. I do have my black box FFVII for PS1 though :P

Seems like a good move, people will be interested to buy it more than they would be in a store. They could get some new fans, who knows.

This is actually a new port, so maybe they'll have ironed out the tech problems.

I hope you're not serious, SE is a decent dev but some of the greatest games I've ever played are on Steam.

At first I thought, "Great! Old JRPGs for a reasonable price, finally!", then I realised it's just TLR, which I'm already grinding my way through right now. :(

Indeed, a high end rig should be fine either way.

The Last Remnant demo on PC runs like a dream! The framerate is capped at 30 on the battles though, but everywhere else I get 70+ on Max.

If FFXIII comes on PC, I don't think I have a need for an Xbox 360. A PC and DS is all I need. :D

I'd be so happy if this happened. :)
