My Owen Hart wants it to be good, by my Stormy Daniels head is tepid.

Crysis 2, Fear 2, Rainbow 6: Gears Of War, Ghost Recon: Fortnite have all left horrible memories.

It does look like a really solid open world survival shooter.

And honestly we don't get that many singleplayer FPS anymore. Xbox at a certain point in time was driven by singleplayer (and multiplayer) fps.

Nice! I went with a conservative 8. I will probably play at launch and backlog Evil West (which is a great game btw). It's kind of fun to play a game when it's brand new. It looks cool!

Tbh I don't like horror that much, because I get so scared 😝. I did fought myself through the Dead Space games, which I have a love/hate relationship with. I hope Stalker is not too scary. Other than that I am aboard the hype train!

Getting Stalker 2 on GoG, as I truly think GSC Game World deserves my full support due to the ongoing Ukraine war. That being said, I'm keeping my expectations low here but I won't fault if the UE5 is a studdering mess. GSC Game World did the best they could during these hard times.

I'm gonna go with a 9/10 for GS and only because of everything I've seen so far, it looks really good. And now that I upgraded my PC with the R7 9800X3D last week, (I'm on DDR5 now) I'm sure my PC will run the game smoothly😎 (At least I hope it does😅)

Honestly those anomalies without shape or form that can kill you in one hit are true horror, something that we as humans can't define.

Same thing my friend did, he upgraded to a 9800x3D with DDR5 for this game.

He's also on a 4080 super, I think you have something similar: the 4070 ti?

@R4gn4r0k: Just a regular RTX 4070. I'm not all too worried as I only game in 1440p and its always been the nicer sweet spot for the perfect balance in performance to power.

Xbox tax will bring it to the 70s. I will say it should be in the 80s.

Plus DLSS will make any game look amazing. Quality is as good as native with TAA now and I'm sure in ten years we'll have balanced looking as good as native or even better.

i always stick with DLSS 3.7.0 and then force Preset E for better clarity.

wouldn't be surprised if the reviews are somewhat mixed, there will probably be some jank, expecting the story/dialogue to be weak and bring it down as well.

but i'm personally very much looking forward to it, been one of the very few games I've been excited about playing for a while now

I would like for this game to be good after suffering all the struggles just to get it to this point

I fully embrace jank. But I don't want the game to come out with the serious issues we've seen these past years:

• The game launches with bad optimization and runs bad on every single setup
• The game launches with severe stuttering which is unfortunately typical for UE5

These things are far worse than falling under the map or some NPC that can tell apart a wall and starts running into it.

Stalker actually had a fantastic story.

It's just wasn't delivered in the usual simple dumb dumb way we are use to.

Should be 10. will get 8 by mainstream critics.

incredible story. marked one ie you the player being Strelok like twist all alone never happened in game before. first time your player character has quest to kill the one who is you.

yea for sure. bad optimization is the one thing that'll keep me from playing this at launch. hopefully not the case!

10/10, minus the variable Xbox tax, landing anywhere between a 5/10 to 9/10, and maybe a MetaCritic average between 75 to 85.

I've just been hearing major buzz these last few weeks from those with sneak peak access so getting psyched for it myself.

I see it getting an 8. Ether way I'm going to play it on Game Pass.

I was playing a lot of Blops 6 online but then I moved over to the campaign, which I loved.

Was really enjoying the multiplayer at first but I quickly got my ass handed to me and I didn't really feel like doing a training montage, but what I played of the online I definitely enjoyed.

Super hyped! Finally a reason to dust off my Series X

It will probably average around an 8. I am waiting for patches regardless. I don't trust games at release. Especially from game series that are known for jank.

I'll definitely give it a go, it's on Gamepass. Just not sure it's my type of game, but keen to try it.

I have the 9800x3D in my Amazon cart as well to go with my 4080 super but my 5950x still going strong so not sure if I'll pull the trigger since I'll need to upgrade my mobo. What you think @BassMan?

5950X still gets the job done. No need to upgrade unless there is a specific game that is not performing to your liking due to a CPU bottleneck. Most games that are demanding also come with frame gen, which bypasses CPU bottlenecks. So, CPU upgrades are becoming less relevant. If you are getting good minimum fps, frame gen will help carry you the rest of the way to high fps.

Ahhh okay well this is reassuring then...guess I'll hold off then and just swap out my fans cause I'm tired of the RGB being stuck on green on my desktop and I went through 3 different remotes from eBay and none of them worked...lmao

I agree with BassMan. You don't necessarily need to upgrade your 5950X as I was running my own 5900X, but I wasn't taking advantage of using it for proactive content such as 3D workloads and such. So I opted for the 9800X3D as I game heavily on PC. Plus, it was time for me to jump into DDR5 and I'm happy with my upgrades. I kinda upgrade my PC often more than I need to. Even if you want to upgrade, I think you can get by with a 5800X3D but it makes sense to just jump into the 9800X3D in the future.

Plus, I knew the 9800X3D we're going to be hard to find later in 2025, so I had to get it during its MSRP and I couldn't be happier with my new MB and CPU.

Which is saying a lot because, as much as I love games, I sort of moderate my hype to low levels.

I'm actually installing OG STALKER right now, just to play a few hours (not to finish) before the game comes out.

First, to remind myself of the original's spirit.

But second, to also remember to keep my expectations grounded. This is a game made during wartime by an East European studio...it's going to have some warts. But that's where the expression "warts and all" comes from...we love it because of the "all"

Yeah @BassMan is my go to guy since he actually helped build my PC 😂

I don't mind waiting though since really most of my games do run well and DLSS helps a lot. I think the most intense game was Cyberpunk 2077 and even still I was able to play above 60 frames with DLSS & Frame Gen

Yeah me too, highly concerned for this running bad on both Xbox and PC. Apparently even the 4090 and 4080 need frame gen and DLSS to run well.

And that the game will be full of stutters. In Silent Hill they were really bad, like making me want to quit modern games alltogether.

But that games map wasn't even a fraction of what they are promising too.

That was back in May. "Quite some time" still stands. :P

But yeah, true. I was immersed.
