If it would have came out a year ago, it may have been AAA. Since it was delayed and delayed and delayed some more it is dated just like the review stated. Still a great overall score. Not sure if I will get it though.
If you watch the video review jason has great things to say about it. Wonderful SP with 6-7 different endings and gorgeous lush environments and superb lighting. It suffers from minor bugs from vista though. I'm sure their hard at work trying to patch it. This is one of those games, that if you have been following the game and you know what to expect, this will be a wonderful game. If your just grabbing stalker because it got a decent score or you just heard about it, you might be disappointed.

Im surprised the visuals and atmosphere is so highly regarded.
Seems alot more immersive than the cheesy oblivion :P.
Pity they didnt say much about the A-life in the review.
Oh well 8.5 is a very respectable score - compared to all other shooters and RPGs out there.... And it was even compared to the likes of Dues Ex in the review!

Ah, those are the moments. Really though, more PC game threads!!! I'm typing a research paper and need to be entertained and these console threads are definitely not doing it. :(

I will pretend I didn't read that and cut you some slack because I think you are new here. Well developed games from respected people don't release with major bugs in them. Half-life 2, Farcry, DOOM3, released with few if any bugs that I noticed. Here are some samples of very good and well developed games. Counter-Strike: Source: High Textures, Models, Sound, 800 x 600 @ 30FPS on 50ish man server. Farcry: Very High Textures, Water, low lighting, 800 x 600 @ 35-45FPS on single player. Half-life 2: Shadows High, Textures, etc, smooth FPS in 800 x 600 (forgot) and 20Ish in 1280 x 1024.

I was also expecting a lower score for this one. But I have read the GS review, and it looks like a sleeper hit, might have to pick it up when it drops in price and a patch or 2 comes out.
If there are as many bugs are the reviewer claims then there is no reason it should get a AAA score. There is no excuse for games to be buggy, especially ones that were in development as long as Stalker was.
One of its biggest problems was running with Vista...Whos fault is that....considering nothing works with VistaGaming4_Life
Nothing at all works with vista huh? Name 10 games, no 5 games. I bet you can't. I think 8.5 and seeing as its only $69(instead of $100) in Australia I'll probably pick it up.

Nice!!! I completely forgot about that game. Wow, Daikatana might have been the all time biggest flop in gaming history. Off the charts hype + Off the charts floppage = Daikatana. That game should be used as a measuring stick for floppage on this forum.

Yeah I bet Gamespot give CNC3 a score somewhere between 7.5 and 8.5 if it gets anything higher than 8.5 I will be amazed.
Personally I enjoyed CNC3 (the demo) heck why wouldn't I I love command and conquer period, but i know it really doesn't offer anything other than a C&C feel but I will enjoy many hours with the game. Plus it will be better than generals hands down.

I think c&c has been dumbed to much for the 360 to score well by PC standards. Has it? I heard it was great, from several C'n'C fans. I haven't been able to try the demo yet.
