honestly i can buy many games twice the price they are selling some fictional items.

I hate the MMO part of this game. I just want to play it's Single Player if it turns out great.

Yeah, this is pretty foolish. But then all microtransactions are based on selling fictional items; weapons, gear, vehicles, outfits, mounts, pets, house/base furniture, etc... And this is happening now because people have been willing to hand in their real money for virtual "merchandise". This is no different, other than being more excessive, and that other mtx is sold for completed games already being played.

At least it's not a loot box giving the player a randomized plot size. Yay.... I guess?? ?

I'm a Space Explorer, I don't have time to buy land or settle down to start a family.

As a side, there is an MMO game that frequently have ridiculously high purchases for in-game content called Entropia Universe. Planet Calypso went for $6,000,000.

I'm not too interested in that stuff, personally and it seems Star Citizen are following the same logic applied by MMO's like EVE and Entropia. Personally, I'd like to give the game a try but I wouldn't be interested in spending money for in-game property.

This garbage always starts on PC. Wait until EA gets a hold of his idea.

Lol, players have been selling to players for years, nor surprised a dev wants in on the action.

My opinion may be quite unpopular in this regard but if it takes like a month or so of grinding to acquire the resources to purchase a plot and an estate vs a single $100 transaction for the same i'd do the latter in a heart beat if i wanted that land and the choice existed. My time is more valuable than a long grind to me, specially time off. Don't care how raw the person that feels like they "earned it the right way" feels about it. And yes, i'm single-handedly killing the industry, you're welcome TC.

Yeah, I'm just sitting here hoping Nintendo at least doesn't join the dark asshole side. Please, Nintendo. Keep being awesome. You are our only hope.

@Bread_or_Decide: I don't know if this kind of thing will finds its way to consoles in the near future. In-game property is usually restricted to MMO games which currently doesn't have a footprint on the console market.

Meh. If it has an economy, then people will be able to build casinos and other things on their land. It's actually kind of a neat idea, albeit an expensive one.

At least it doesn't mean that you'll automatically win most firefights like in Battlefront 2. ;)

All we can hope is the stuff built on this land can be high level bombed flat.

I don't agree with C.I.G's idea for the selling of land plots, or a stick to make a land claim with where ever you want to plonk it in the ground, it's just a bit too much. At least if someone buys one though they are getting exactly what they asked for, it's not as if you pay $50 to have a chance of winning a land claim and a higher chance of winning a landscape picture of what you could have got.

Also everything will available to buy in game with in game money, how that's earned and how quickly will be down to the player and not an arbitrary earning per level you play.
