pcgames magazine in germany. They also got a look of Star Citizen 3.0 and some screens as well I believe they are mix of SQ42 and 3.0 in the source. It was last summer when they had a look at the procedural generated stuff which was eventually revealed this year.

So far there no full translation of the magazine.

This game just keeps looking better and better. Think I'm gonna pour me some scotch , smoke a bowl , and play some star citizen in a little bit.

planetside wasn't originally suppose to be in SQ42 but I guess that was probably why they held it back.

Soon the haters will be pouring in denial as always trying to downplay what this game achieved.

Where your games with the highly detailed procedural generated planets with POI. NMS only had a small base and one guy in there that's nothing comparable.

So when is this going to be a single packaged game I can get on steam or did I miss something?

In answer to your question, my guess is never. It's unlikely that either Star Citizen or Squadron 42 will be available on Steam. Of course I could be wrong and they may strike a deal with Valve.

Lol, I guess you knew that @ghosts4ever would be stopping by.

Although they haven't directly said that planetside has had any knock on effect with Squadron 42, Chris did hint at it when he announced that the vertical slice was not getting shown at Citizencon. He said that he wanted all assets that will be used in Star Citizen should also be used in Squadron 42. The majority of the community are still convinced it's entirely down to A.I. issues.

Alpha prototypes of this game with screen-tearing up the ass and framerate drops just barely qualify as gameplay. Game is still in pre-alpha limbo. But yes, can't wait to play it in 2019 as well.

Last gameplay they showed had very steady framerate even the playable alpha ppl have been getting better framerate and that's without the new netcode implemented. Don't confuse SQ42 with the PTU which is separate. .

Hmm I can read a little German but it doesn't talk about the game much. It's talking about the upcoming year in gaming (Star Citizen, Prey, Switch) and that they are going to tell what they think the year will be like (Will RDR2 be on PC?), and it says they talk about Star Citizen on page 25.

@ghosts4ever: I'm guessing the game will see a full release in 2022 at the earliest. After another couple game engine swaps.

The stupidity is at the point where one can't clearly tell the difference between concept art and an actual screenshot. And ppl who don't realize another is same engine under a different brand. PPl must be desperate to find something despite how incredible misleading they are.

@Guy_Brohski: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/265425/Amazon_launches_new_free_highquality_game_engine_Lumberyard.php

The only big difference is it has Aws and twitch/cloud features with the core being cry engine itself you think amazon was able to make their own engine from scratch when they bought the rights to crytek source code. CIG and Amazon have been working with each other for a while Chris has said it took only a day to implement the amazon features. CIG already had a heavily modified cry engine and was using the crytek logo for a while. The only thing that CIG will do is take patches from amazon. It's like arguing the steam OS isn't Linux.

@Guy_Brohski: it's a modified cry engine with amazon features all CIG did was add those to the their pre existing engine which is already working fine. There not getting support from crytek so obviously there going change engine provider who can support them. Next time do some research instead looking like a jackass.

@ghosts4ever: For a non backer you sure act salty about this game other than spreading lies and your nostalgia for games that are barely above average in gameplay.

This is what Chris Said they only added parts of Lumberyard into their current engine. It amazes me ppl are taking this as negative when their utilizing better technology to power Star Citizen.

"Lumberyard and StarEngine are both forks from exactly the SAME build of CryEngine.

We stopped taking new builds from Crytek towards the end of 2015. So did Amazon. Because of this the core of the engine that we use is the same one that Amazon use and the switch was painless (I think it took us a day or so of two engineers on the engine team). What runs Star Citizen and Squadron 42 is our heavily modified version of the engine which we have dubbed StarEngine, just now our foundation is Lumberyard not CryEngine. None of our work was thrown away or modified. We switched the like for like parts of the engine from CryEngine to Lumberyard. All of our bespoke work from 64 bit precision, new rendering and planet tech, Item / Entity 2.0, Local Physics Grids, Zone System, Object Containers and so on were unaffected and remain unique to Star Citizen.

Going forward we will utilize the features of Lumberyard that make sense for Star Citizen. We made this choice as Amazon's and our focus is aligned in building massively online games that utilize the power of cloud computing to deliver a richer online experience than would be possible with an old fashioned single server architecture (which is what CryNetwork is)."
