This got me really excited but I notice they not use things like back rolling as much if at all or even the tactical commands animation. Not every feature is in yet but this is a start.

So what do you guys think of this first iteration. Also it seems like you can die from too much damage without healing and can cause your character to react slower if taken damage to parts of the body. Basically if your out of meds your screwed if your seriously injured unless you find a med kit somewhere.

This seems to discourage the whole run and gun gameplay of COD where you have to be careful and relay on your teammates more and using your medpack more carefully .

Also you can choose from type of armor you are wearing and there a choice from laser or projectile weapons. I don't think this version has the gadgets you can use.

Im not interested in this mode and it looks like a basic multiplayer shooter to me but with missing standard player depth. Looking forward to main Star Citizen though.

Coincidentally, I just love playing against the COD crowd in real paintball. All of a sudden they realise how absolutely retarded every tactic they've learnt from most FPS's are. And they get all upset about it too hahahah.

You don't want it to be anything more than a pretty basic and functionally sound shooter. You have to remember that this FPS gameplay is the glue that holds the universe together. Complex mechanics would bog the whole thing down. You're supposed to be able to get out of your ship, walk around stations, and get back into your ship seamlessly. FPS fights are supposed to be very natural and only part of a much larger whole.

Generally, in Star Citizen, FPS combat is going to result with you respawning literally systems away from where you died. So you'll come back to life quickly, but you won't be rejoining the fight you just died in. So this whole match based thing is kind of meaningless in the actual meat of Star Citizen.

3 years ago you had nothing to be hyped about. 3 years ago SQ42 was still an IDEA while CIG had to get Arena commander out and get the core part of the game at a playable state.

You still continue to fail to understand that when CIG announced star citizen publicly that star citizen was still in the starting stages of development. hell man..at the time of the kickstarter the single player campaign was really just going to be AC with abit of story added in. The game we were getting then and the game we are getting now are miles apart from each other in terms of scope hence the development time has increased. Don't even know why you pretend to care about star citizen and its development.

There's a huge bug going on right now in Star Citizen. People are spawning without bodies in PTU and can't fly their ships in Arena Commander or the PTU. It's been going on for days now and I can't play the game. :( Sucks major ass, I wanted to get hyped about the game by playing it on the day they did the streaming but I couldn't play thanks to this bug.

He doesn't, if he did he'd be violating the NDA. I guess he's talking about a general bug in 2.5, it's not one I've seen though.

I heard there are early tester of 2.6 did it go live two days ago for them? Days is a exaggeration if its only been out for two days only

The NDA ended a couple of days ago when they started releasing it in waves to backers on the ptu, i got my invite yesterday as a day one backer but the current patch crashes the game constantly after about 10 mins, oddly it crashes less if you launch star marine or AC from the holo pod in your hanger hence the reason we test it on the ptu before it goes to the live servers i guess :P

Also the 2.6 patch has disabled the persistant universe temporarilly to concentrate on fixing bugs in AC and SM

The fps feels great though its a vast improvement to the current 2.5 patch even with its currently missing features and star marine looks far better first hand on my pc than it does in the videos.

I'm getting around 90 fps on very high at 1080p in Star Marine with a gtx 980ti and an i7 4790k

Edit: Seems the latest patch ( 2.6.0 j ) has fixed the crashes i was having and can launch into Star marine without going to the hanger now

There will never be a publisher, be that MS, Sony, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Sega etc. involved with Star Citizen. I strongly suggest you do not hold your breath in anticipation.

You may want to look at history a bit before saying that. Chris Roberts' history with both EA and MS (mostly MS) is the reason he wanted to build Star Citizen without interference from a publisher. MS stopped him building Freelancer into his dream game, he won't let that happen with Star Citizen.

Eh, none of that maters if he thinks Scorpio will sell like hotcakes and sees $$$$$$$$$$$ signs.... those signs always heal all the old wounds.

There will never be a publisher, be that MS, Sony, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Sega etc. involved with Star Citizen. I strongly suggest you do not hold your breath in anticipation.

No mater, if MS puts MS Flight Sim on Scorpio, that will do nicely as well.

And again, don't underestimate the powah of Cash. I'd suggest You'd be wise not to dismiss this out of hand. :P

I know, I know man but was just throwing it out there since something like SC made available and run quite well would be a feather in it's cap and really drive home the new power of the new MS console.

Just figured it would be a smart move and a coup of sorts if MS was able to make it happen is all. Hey, one can wish can't he? :P

@SecretPolice: The Scorpio probably won't have enough CPU power for Star Citizen. It could probably run it graphically (at some lower setting level) at 1080p30, but it won't have the CPU power required. Even after the 3.0 massive network overhaul that should radically improve framerates, the Scorpio's CPU is just not that powerful. The per-core performance is going to be a bottleneck even in singleplayer.

Generally games don't need a lot of CPU power, so the consoles can get away with weaker CPUs to safe cash and thermals, but Star Citizen is pushing the boundaries and doing a lot more physics and AI calculations than normal. It's also streaming in a lot more content than other games Procedural generated planets and whatnot with literally millions of objects on them.

Pretty safe to say the CPU of any console just won't be enough.

Personally I fully expect Squadron 42 to reach consoles at some point but the major question hanging over that would be funding, remember this is entirely funded by PC gamers. If it does happen, it wouldn't be until after it's on PC and they have a funding deal in place as well as time and developers freed up to deal with the port.

Star Citizen on the other hand would need to be very carefully negotiated and a deal would need to be reached (one I'm not sure either company would be willing to accommodate). Otherwise the constant upgrading and patching would not be viable with MS's and Sony's QA testing and the patching charges they apply to developers. It would be very, very expensive to run a game of Star citizen's scope through Xbox Live or PSN.

A console exclusive deal for any company would be a major feather in their cap.
