I dont get it, what exactly does this have to do with NMS?
If anything this is more an awesome tribute to Dune.
Recently a lot of haters, fail wishers and doubters have been comparing Star Citizen to NMS. Desert and ice planets were, at one point, a hyped feature in NMS. Planet eco systems were supposed to be different depending on the distance to the sun. Hello games showed screen shots of a desert planet with giant Dune type worms.
C.I.G. could just have shown a ship land on an asteroid, something that has been possible in Star Citizen since the alpha started but I guess that's not as impressive.
It's almost like a 60 dollar game delivers more content than a 10 dollar indie game being sold for 60 dollars.
But if it's being sold for $60, it's not a $10 game. Stop making excuses. The amount of content in NMS isn't even the issue with the game.

The missing content is

It is a ten dollar game, and anyone who has any value of money can tell so.
Just like Star Wars Battlefront was never a 60 dollar game.

In one of the pre-release videos of NMS, the devs showed a sand planet with sand worms.
However, neither sand planets nor sand worms were part of the final game. Just one of the many things NMS advertised and failed to deliver.
That wasn't a jab at NMS. It looks like they were deadly serious about a giant sandworm in Star Citizen.
Not a jab, more an omen that Star Citizen is going to fail to deliver lol.
At least NMS was actually released....
With missing content and just plan misleading demos and SC has been in development less than NMS even including time with early prototype when they had less than 10 people. 3.0 will release later on with content we seen in the past month.

At this moment, any space sim/survival game that remotely looks promising is a jab at NMS, thats how bad the public perception is of that game.

And my point still stands...
