Star ocean 4 now on the Xbox 360, PS3 lost teh megaton franchise.

Next entrant to the series is on its way to Microsoft's machine.

June 10, 2008 - At a press conference held by Microsoft in Japan, Square Enix and Microsoft announced that the next Star Ocean game will be released on Xbox 360 in 2009. The game, officially titled Star Ocean: The Last Hope, is in a playable state right now and will have a science fiction feel to it. Though a trailer for the game presented by Yoshinori Yamagishi, producer of the game, ended with the words "for Xbox 360," there was no mention of the title being exclusive to the system.

I hope it goes on the PS3 as well, the Star Ocean series is awesome, and the more gamers playing it the better! But it's sorta odd how they left us hanging on if it is going only on the 360, or coming on both consoles.

they said it's coming for the xbox360 .... they never said it's gonig to be an exlusive .

besides , this was announced at the MS rpg premiere 2008 event , I wouldn't expect them to announce it for the ps3 also , even if it is multiplat ( which it will 90% ) .

I think it'll be out for the PS3. IIRC, Star Ocean 4 was announced for the PS3 a long time ago. The most I'll expect is for MS to have it as a timed exclusive. But we'll see if there are any other announcements in the future.

Asked if the game is 360-only, he said, "We cannot announce anything on that. We can say that it will be released first [on the Xbox 360]. Whether we'll release it on the PS3 is undecided. We may release it, we may not."*

Worth noting: Star Ocean 4 was never confirmed to be a Playstation 3 game, let alone exclusive. Any claim to which was not based on facts or statements from either tri-Ace or Square Enix.

At this point, if you're a fan of RPGs and still refuse to buy an Xbox 360 you seriously need to seek help for your fanboyism. I hear there's a shock treatment available for such a disorder.

SO2 wasn't even that great either the story was very generic it had to be cuz they had to make the game for 2 diff sides of the story so there were no real good twists in the game and they said it had multiple endings but there is barely any differences in the endings so it was pointless

the sound effects and fighting was really lame and the graphics sucked the music was repetitive they reused so many difff sounds and backgorunds u literally go towers and through halls that are identical for like 10 levels no effort was put into star oceaan games

As the worst one was Till The End of time. I never finished it, the voice acting was so bad ¬_¬

Star Ocean 1-2 were some of the most exiting JRPG's i have played with, and this is a next gen title, that is will probably be 1000 times more stunnign than the old ones in every aspect

Wow, I think it will still end up on the PS3, but if this game goes over to the 360. MS is getting a number of great JRPG series, Star Ocean and the Tales seires.

When it was announced they didn't say what console it was for, people assumed it was for the PS3, and the cows seems to love putting it on the PS3 exclusive RPG list, and I said a number of times not to do that.

I loved the battle-system for SO3 and the story wa interesting. It had a big, nice plot-twist near the end :P

I will definetely get SO4.

So let's see, according to the cows, the 360 is a complete loss in Japan. And yet, here we are reading yet another Japanese game developer pledge a once-Sorny title to the 360. Yes, this is awesome! Once again, I am looking forward to playing yet another new game on my 360 while the cows sit on their PS3s and wonder why their console is virtually barren. Well 3 years into its life cycle and if u havent sold a million consoles in japan yet that is not a very successful if u ask me. I think MS is doing a great job trying to persuay japan to buy there system with alot of jrpg titles but I just think japan doesnt really trust microsoft yet to all jump the band wagon. Yes there is alot of JRPG games on the 360 but u also have to have other games that adapt to the japanese people. Something like monster hunters, pokeman, dragon quest, and something like mario. Yeah I dont understand them either but japan seems to be more the type that enjoy games that are just fun, and dont really care for graphics and stuff. Just look at the ps3, thats there homeland and nintendo is spanking the ps3 all over its homeland, lol. So yeah if I were MS, id start making up games that are like the ones nintendo sells well in japan but make them more graphical and make people go wow now that is awesome, same as sony but u can see sony already doing this with games like, eye of judgement, flow, echocrome, elifunk, flower, afrika and many other games for the playstation eye, and playstation network.
