I agree but there is so many people that don't know there are other strategy games other than starcraft or old dune RTS type.Which one is better from looking at the videos. Please look at the videos!

shouldn't be hard for sc2 to outbest a huge flop like tw. hopesfall2ownHave you checked out the video. Because if you have you are either blind. Or think that its a joke link that redirects you to the patriot movie.

Just because there's alot of units on screen doesn't mean its nice to look at. sc2's buildings are enough to put it over the top of tw.

Keep kidding your self. Empire is real strategy where everything is taken into consideration. StarCraft 2 is just see who can get more resources.Starcraft II will be leagues better than Empire: Total Flop!
whatisazerg
Even though starcraft 2 will sell a bijillion more units, empire: total war will probably be the better game.

Keep telling yourself that.
Starcraft II will be played competitively for 10 years, by this time next year, no one will be talking about Empire: Total Flop. If you think Starcraft is just about collecting the most minerals/gas, then you haven't played much Starcraft.... or you have and you lose alot.

If you want credibility, don't make a username that, for the knowledgable gamers, is obviously a refernece to StarCraft. And you think an 8.5 game is bad? If you think games scoring in the 8 range is bad, you miss out on the best parts of gaming.[QUOTE="whatisazerg"]

The game I'm playing the most right now is RE5, which is technically a flop, but I love it. So take your assumptions somewhere else k, thx!
And how does my username reflect my credibility? It's an inside joke for anyone who's been using these forums for a while.
I like the artstyIe for StarCraft II, but I do think Empire: Total War is better than StarCraft II will be. StarCraft was and still is an amazing game, and the little improvements it looks like they've made insure that the sequel is going to be great along the same lines, but I've been spoiled by the more tactical action of Empire: Total War, the genre-hybridization of Sins of a Solar Empire, the objective-based battles in Company of Heroes, etc. There's been a lot of evolution in Real-Time Strategy games since StarCraft came out, and although I don't think it's enough to leave the Dune formula entirely behind, it's going to make it seem a lot less fresh.
They're too diffrent to compare. Empire appeals to me far more though, I want to be a ruler and a general, while in Starcraft I'm a CEO of a construction company with oversized security team ;)
Starcraft 2 for me...
Yes, like most gamers I love to see innovation but....why worry about innovation when you can worry about whats fun..I'll see lots of new cool experiences but for this title its sticking true to the starcraft name. If Starcraft 2 came out and was completely different it would be kind of like "what happened to the game we knew and loved"...Anyways I'm really excited for Starcraft 2...hopefully when I upgrade and pick up Empire I'll be proven wrong about my original pick...
As for now since I've played Starcraft 2 so I'll go with it (Yes at PAX there were starcraft 2 booths...it felt fresh and fun unlike what most people are thinking it will feel like)
sc2's buildings are enough to put it over the top of tw.hopesfall2own
We are discussing strategy games. If you want to stare at pretty buildings, go play a city-builder. Otherwise, I'll focus on the part of a strategy game that actually matters.

you do realise that there is basicly the same amout of change from M2:tw->E:tw as it is betwen sc1->sc2?
Of course, Empire Total War is going to look better in videos. That's like asking which looks better in videos; Haze or Half-Life.
StarCraft 2 is the clear winner as far as gameplay and longevity is concerned.
TW looks more epic, but SC2 will be the better game, you Blizzard doubters really need to stop doubting :P Blizzard does not fail.
shouldn't be hard for sc2 to outbest a huge flop like tw. hopesfall2ownand yet ETW>every console game :?
you do realise that there is basicly the same amout of change from M2:tw->E:tw as it is betwen sc1->sc2?>Enosh88I didn't. In Empire, they've added the technology tree, naval combat, overhauled the agent system, the trading system, and drastically changed how each region operates, and lets not forget the simple change in time periods changes everything. When I look at Starcraft 2, I just don't see that many game changing additions. I'm sure Starcraft 2 will be a great game, but I agree with most posters here that it's stuck in the past.

No. The change in E:TW is far bigger than in SC2, it's not even close.Seriously comparing those two? That is as different as comparing Gear of War 2 with Super Mario Bros...
Seriously. Most PC stratagy gamers love both because one provides a slow burning, massive, tactical campaign while the other one is fast paced, action packed, and loaded with competitive play.
Empire.
Though I think that SC2 will score better and sell more.
Still Empire is the very deffinition of epic.
1) Personnaly, I believe that if anyone says SC2 looks better, they are fanboys and if anyone says that TW has more depth and starategy, thus more length, is also a fanboy. This is because in TW, a large portion of the game is spent in an overview map, not in real time combat, thus much less intense, while in SC games are all real-time, include a larger DIVERSITY (not number) of units and upgrades. (BTW, this is reffering only to the MP, not SP) 2) You cannot compare these two games well enough to do a poll. Sure, both are 'strategy', but thats it. Its like saying whats better, wine or water. Sure both are drinks, but are entierly different. One is turn-based/real-time battle strategy, while the other is fully real-timeBelwar555
I can bet my left arm that you havent played ANY total war game....
^ He prolly hasnt played TW.
because if he did have he would know that the overview map can be VERY intense
