"As most already suspected, considering the long awaited beta period hasn't even begun, StarCraft II will not be released in 2009. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick confirmed the delay, as part of commentary on the company's second quarter financial results. StarCraft II is now scheduled to be released in "the first half of 2010.

In the same release, Blizzard said the delay was tied to the launch of their revamped Battle.net service, crucial to the game's online multiplayer."

Because a handheld game has never won GOTY if i remember correctly and Handheld games and console games are reviewed by different standards

How old do you think you'll be by the time the full starcraft trilogy releases? I think I'm going to wind up in my thirties before the end of this comes about. I'm not sure I'll be interested in sc then. :(

uncharted 2 has just won GOTY........lets focus on next year now

This announcement is annoying to me because they said they would release Diablo 3 after the first part of Starcraft II was released. To me, this means Diablo 3 is delayed as well. :?

This is what pisses me off about Blizzard. I defend that creativity shouldnt be heavily limited by schedules and budgets but this is absolutely ridiculous. Stop scratching your ***** family jewels and release the damn game while i'm young. Or dont bother announcing it if you're planing to drag on for two years. Thunderdrone

Who wasn't expecting this? I mean common you hear about something getting delayed. It gets delayed. Especially a big title like SC 2

No both GT5 and F3 are still on scheldule to release this holiday season, also both kz2 and infamous are AAA and have a chance, nothings in the bag yet.

Yes Diablo 3 will be wondeful by Q410 as it seems everthing else is getting release in Q1 and Q2
